So the OTHER big DC news today is that WB is apparently planning a Flash movie for 2016.

No specifics yet but hopefully we'll get some more details tonight or tomorrow. What do you think? Will it be Barry or Wally? What kind of tone should they go for? Who should they cast? What director/writer team could bring the Scarlet Speedster to life?

I wish it were Wally, but I suspect we'll get Barry. I'm fine with that as, while I love Flash, he's not my primary hero that I'm a fan of.

Hopefully we're getting this for sure, and they should make it about Barry Allen and do his origin story. He's my favorite and I think he works the best for the first film series from a story telling standpoint.

I hope it's not a Dark and Gritty story. Flash doesn't strike me as that type of character especially with the colourful rogue's gallery of villains. I'm betting Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash is the villain. I don't think someone like Grodd or Ultra Humanite would work for this movie.

I think the Barry Allen time travel angle is a good way to go. Tonally, this film should be like Spider-Man 2/Iron Man/Back to the Future, with perhaps some of Abrams' Trek thrown in.

Agree on the tone, there should be humour but not so much that its a comedy. I imagine if they make similar to ST, Spidey etc then it will do well with audiences and at the box office.
