A thread dedicated to the single wackiest, zaniest, craziest, weirdest, more ridiculous, insane and surreal movie ever made. It's like something David Lynch would have made 40 years ago while smoking 2 pounds of crack and doing 10 liters of acid. It is the epitome of a cult film. And I bet most of you have never even heard of it.

Synopsis:

Forbidden Zone is an early 1980's movie about a family that moves in a house that has in the basement a door to the sixth dimension that they pretty much try to ignore, but when the eldest daughter returns from her studies in France, curiosity attracts her to investigate... oh, and did I mention is a completely bonkers fantasy musical? No? Well, you don't know what you're missing. This movie is groundbreaking for being the first film that Danny Elfman ever composed a soundtrack for (no surprise considering his brother is the director and screenwriter, his brother's wife is the protagonist, and their father and grandfather both play characters in the film), Danny himself plays the devil while the rest of the original Oingo Boingo band (when it was known as The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo) are here as his minions. The film also includes Hervé Villechaize andhttp://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CryBaby Susan Tyrell.

YES! It's about time someone made a thread about this movie!
Despite the questionable content, I loved this movie. I love the horrible acting, the obviously hand-made sets, the costumes that look like they were just pulled out of someone's closet. It's sheer greatness. The soundtrack to this film is one of my favorite albums.
Has anyone seen it in color? I heard that was the original intention, but I can't imagine it NOT in black and white.
