Can you tell me, what are concert BD's like? Are they worth the money?

If you have the right audio equipment to take advantage of it I heard that some of the concert Blu-ray's are some of the best sounding Blu-ray's out there.

They absolutely are.

In fact if you get the right ones you'll have not only some of the best audio you'll find on a "movie", but amazing picture quality, too.

I have 3 concerts in HD now, Stomp Live, Blue Man Group: How to Be a Megastar Live, and Chicago/Earth, Wind, and Fire - Live at the Greek Theatre, and they are all equally impressive. If you're a fan of the artists you'll definitely want to check them out! :)

My personal favorite of the 3 is the Blue Man Group disc. It's pretty amazing.

I heard the John Mayer one was pretty amazing audiowise. The only concert performance I am interested in seeing is The Rolling Stones Shine a Light and even that is only a slight interest. But yeah I heard it can look and sound like you are right there in the crowd.

If only they would provide concert Blu-ray's of bands I actually like. lol. The John Mayer one would be the only I am interested in at the moment and I only really like his first CD, before he went all Bluesy.

Blu-ray to Finally Visit "Sin City"

January 28, 2009

What was once planned to be released during the first few months of Buena Vista's Blu-ray Disc era will see the light of day on April 21. Frank Miller's Sin City is at long last officially coming to Blu-ray.

Dimension is making sure to take advantage of Blu-ray's storage capacity by offering both the original theatrical cut and extended unrated recut version in the same package.

Each version will be pressed onto a separate disc flanked by a total of over 8 hours of bonus features. Disc one will include the theatrical cut; the first of two new Blu-ray exclusive features, Cine-Explore; two audio commentaries and an audio track from Austin premiere.

Disc two will include the recut version; Kill 'Em Good Interactive Comic Book that retells Marv's story with you in the driver's seat; four featurettes; interviews with Quentin Tarantino and Frank Miller; Robert Rodriguez special features and "much more" which are likely comprised of extras from the last DVD edition.

On the tech specs front, Dimension is blessing Sin City with 1.85:1 1080p video, 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and D-BOX Motion Code on the disc. Check out a sneak peek of the cover art and bonus features below. The retail price has been set at $35.99 which means the on-shelf price should be around $25. I'll report back with pre-order information and a link once available.

Glad I waited and didn't get the Canadian version. This looks like the version to have.

Alba may be a weak actress but her dancing in HD will be fantastic ;)
I'm not usually this superficial when it comes to cinema

I wasn't going to get Sin City, but I have to now. Just seeing the cover got me wanting it.

i hope the transfer of sin city is better than the imported transfer . iv'e never seen it but the review didn't make it sound too good.

Actually the reviews were quite good. The only thing that was actually on the disc was the movie itself though. Zero extras (No chapter selection even I think) and no extended cut.

"Sin City" FINALLY!

LOVED this movie, but have always held off on buying the DVD because I was waiting for the inevitable HD release. :)
