I have a question..Some of my DVD's on the Blu Ray play weird. The Pixar ones play very well on the Blu Ray,but say Dar Knight is very small on my screen.Same goes for Ice Age.Any reason for that.I intend to replace all of my DVD's eventually.

I bet you mean it like plays in a small box with black all around the sides right?

Yes..I think some DVD's are 4:3.All of my Pixar films play 16:9 but most DVD's are in that little box surrounded by black around it.

Well I don't know what player you have but on my PS3 I have 2 settings.

DVD Wide Display...which I have set to Letterbox
BD/DVD Upscaler...which I have set to Full Screen

Without those settings I get what your talking about to. So if you don't have a PS3 then look around at your settings and see if there is some kind of upscaling option that you can change.

So get this, TVshowsondvd.com is saying that sources are telling them that Fox is releasing 24 - The Complete 7th Season on DVD and Blu-ray on May 19th.

...that's the day after the Season 7 finale airs on TV...

While that'd be awesome to see TV seasons released that soon after they're finish airing on TV, take that with a grain of salt until it's confirmed or not.

Nice!

Well $20 is what it really should be worth. I feel sorry for those suckers paying $200 for that.

I would say it's worth $50, and $20 is even better, but yes, $200 is way too high for that surge protector.

Yeah that's what I am getting at. Monster makes glorified products. You can get a basic 6 outlet surge protector for $10-$15 usually.

Does anyone know if The Crow and Mortal Kombat are getting Blu-Ray releases? I haven't seen anything in them and would like to have both of those movies in my collection.

I think MK would be a one time view because it probably doesn't hold water like it did back in '95.

If I'm not mistaken, you can import The Crow, the reviews on the disc were low, but anyone please correct me if I'm wrong

The Crow has a REGION B LOCKED release in the UK. The transfer was 1080i and I heard it was awful not much better than the DVD. I believe Buena Vista has the home video rights here in the US so it should be handled properly whenever they decide to release here.

Mortal Kombat would probably get a release when the next Mortal Kombat videogame comes out. That is how they handled the recent Street Fighter release.

I hope so. I am looking forward to them being released. I'm surprised New Line hasn't released MK already.

I've heard about the UK version of the Crow, but I want the works. I have the DVD's of both. Now I want the HD versions.

Tell me you don't want that techno music from MK in DTS-HD master thumping your sound system?

I saw Mortal Kombat in theatres when I was a kid. It was awesome for me then but now I am grown up I doubt I would feel the same rewatching it again. :)

But the Crow I would definitely get. Not only an amazing film but probably one of the most underrated soundtracks.

MK is ok if you don't take it seriously. It's not a great movie in terms of quality but it's entertaining. Can't say that for the sequel though.

I was 21 or 22 when I saw MK in theaters. It was fun then, but you're right it probably won't be as good or even as fun now to watch, but I still need to see it in all it's HD glory.

Agreed. *sigh* What a horrible mess that was. Anyway, I suspect The Crow will get a Region A release one of these days. Day One purchase for me when it does.

What would you say is the best looking Blu Ray?

Well I would say Blu-ray really shines when it comes to animation titles. It's kind of hard to pick a "best" blu-ray because there are different kinds of movies and different factors you have to look at.

Thanks for the info.I think I will pick up the Pixar films, and go on from there.Just have Wall-e,and Hellboy 2 for now.Maybe Cars tomorrow,or the pixar shorts.

Yeah well I have never been into that Pixar/Disney animation stuff for the most part but I have seen a little of Cars on Blu-ray and I would say just from what I saw I would HIGHLY recommend it if you're a fan of those films. Also I hear Ratatouille is a 5 star disc.

The Dark Knight's IMAX scenes are just amazing looking and the TrueHD kicks ass. Cloverfield looks awesome and the sound is just AMAZING on that disc if you like giving your subwoofer a workout. Ummmm and if you're looking for a comedy I highly recommend Superbad not only did I think it was hilarious but it really does look great.
