The 40" Toshiba TV was a good deal on Monday for $599, but I've never been too big a fan of their sets.

Ok, personally high-def week has been disappointing. Not one single thing interested me. Shame.

Deep Impact will be a must buy, great movie. Now we need the other comet/meteor movie to come out.

Armageddon would look amazing on Blu and I would buy it. Pretty much any Michael bay movie looks good and sounds good on Blu because of all the loud pretty explosions.

I've read the Ghostbusters reviews but I was wondering what people here thought about it. I know about the grain, but I don't see that as an issue since that's probably the intended look of the film. Won't be getting my copy until tomorrow, so I'll let you guys know what I think.

Lionsgate Live allows users to insert and animate shapes, text, audio and other graphics right into the film.

'Requiem for a Dream was originally announced in 2006 as an upcoming Lionsgate Blu-ray. No word if or when Darren Aronofsky's other film 'Pi' would see Blu-ray release.

Crank 2 will most likely look fantastic. Being that it's filmed in HD.

I haven't heard anything about that, but anything should be an upgrade over the DVD.

Yep I am pretty sure the master was destroyed. So it would probably cost them a lot of money to fully remaster it for Blu-ray which is why we might not see it for a long time they might feel its not worth the money to remaster it at this point.

Ian failed to post the Blu-Ray release calendar again, I assume he has developed a drinking problem

Ian failed to post the Blu-Ray release calendar again, I assume he has developed a drinking problem

Hahaha. Actually, it's funny you mention that because my 26th birthday was 2 weeks ago, and that night was the first time I've ever consumed any alcohol in my life. :) And yesterday I was drinking for the 3rd time.

And I was actually thinking just tonight that I might just drop the whole thing, cause I didn't think anyone paid attention to it...

There! Ya HAPPY?!?!?! :D

So Ian is becoming a boozer now? lol.

Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday! Even though it was 2 weeks ago. :p So, now your my age, and you just started drinking? lol. I've never been much of a drinker, but I do like a good glass of wine every now and then. But heck, on my 21st, I made sure to drink some kind of alcohol...lol. One or two won't hurt ya.

Oh and thanks for the High-Def update, I see some films that I will need to add to my Netflix list thingy. *See, it is useful and we do pay attention to the update*

Yea, happy belated, and enjoy the boozing, it certainly made up a good deal of my life the last four years. I used to deny having a problem, but now that I'm no longer a college student, I've ran out of excuses :)

Picked up Ghostbusters on Blu yesterday, though still a bit disappointed that Ghostbusters 2 didn't also come out.

Yeah I posted that a long while back on here. While 95% of the movie watching people out there wouldn't even consider buying it it is nice that Panasonic is taking the risk of putting it out there as an option. Because while it is not a large market there are people who still have a lot of home videos on VHS or really rare VHS tapes that believe it or not haven't even seen a DVD release.
