I feel like an idiot...I just found out Serenity is on blu-ray...for how long have i been ignorant if this glory?

Yeah it seems like the Blu-ray releases are starting to churn out at a much more unbelievable pace. I am just looking at the releases for the next 3 months and I just feel broke looking at everything I want to get.

But if you want to keep up with whats coming out here is a good page that gets updated regularly.

And just a little update here. It seems the Canadian distribution company Alliance is starting to open the floodgates on their Blu-ray releases. Just go to Amazon.CA and you should be able to order these discs they are Region A!

A Nightmare On Elm Street
From Dusk Till Dawn
Sin City
Hostage
Seed of Chucky
Freddy Vs. Jason

And here is some that have been announced...

January 27th releases:
The Butterfly Effect

February 3rd releases:
Good Will Hunting
Cold Mountain
The Constant Gardener
15 Minutes
DOA: Dead or Alive
21 Grams

March 3rd, 2009
Derailed
Rounders
Se7en
Traffic
Brokeback Mountain

ALSO THINGS THAT I SHOULD POINT OUT IS THAT SO FAR THEIR RELEASES HAVE HAD ZERO EXTRAS SO ONLY SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT EXTRAS. AND MOST OF THESE RELEASES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED OR ARE EXPECTED THIS YEAR TO BE RELEASED IN THE USA.

That does look nice, but I wonder how good of a product it'll end up being. I know I've had a lot of trouble with the TV/DVD combos in the past.

Hey **** it why not? Maybe it has a feature where you can transfer your VHS tapes onto a Blu-ray disc or something.

First the news: Warner has just OFFICIALLY announced that the Blu-ray Disc version of Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology will street on 3/10 (SRP $129.95). The set will include all four previous films (Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin) with special features repurposed from the previous DVD box set and special editions. The set will also include a fifth disc containing a Digital Copy version of the original Batman. The films are only available on Blu-ray in the box set at this time (contrary to listings on Amazon), but the studio is repromoting the DVD versions on 3/10 as well (SRP $12.97 for single-disc, $26.99 for the 2-disc special editions and $79.92 for the DVD box set). Hey, only a month later than we predicted! At least we didn't have long to wait for official word. We posted the cover art for the box set in The Rumor Mill back in November, but now that it's official you'll find it below along with the individual disc covers, though remember again that they're all ONLY available in the box - not individually.

i don't know how i feel about that. i already own the anthology set but the cover arts are ****. it's going to come down to 3 factors for me:

a.) overall cheapest price i can find
b.) picture quality
c.) how much trade in value i can get for the dvd set.

Glad we're getting those covers, when Europe got them for the 05' Anthology DVD release I was envious. Guess I'm buying the set

A point of interest: I was looking at the European release of Batman Returns the other day, and it said that it includes the commentary. I thought this was left off the Euro release because of cuts. Is it unrated?
