I'm a big fan of the movie and I was just wondering if anybody here has checked out the Vertigo comic adaption of the original script and if it's worth checking out

I've got it. It's really really good. It's feels more like a series of paintings, rather than drawings, so it gives the story more weight IMO.

The blurry canvas makes the flashbacks more historic feeling, and the future more surreal. The emotion is there, maybe even stronger than in the movie.

Plus, it's oversized and cheaper now than when it originally came out.

If you're a fan of the movie or not, you'll enjoy this book. I've kept it on my coffee table for 8 months.

I believe the book and film were conceived simultaneously, based on Aronofsky's script.

Yeah, it is. Aronofsky wrote both. The GN is more like the "unrated" version of the movie, possibly a little longer. A few more jumps in time.

From what I've read on Wikipedia the graphic novel is basically how the movie originally was. I know that the project was shelved at one time because the lead roles(big name actors, I think Brad Pitt and someone else) quit and it later got revived. That's from what I've read of Wikipedia and such.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the opinions, I'll definitely be checking this out
