Boostergold
Checkmate
Shadowpact
Birds of Prey

Yes, yes, depends on what you like, and yes.

Yes.

At the very, very least, they're all worth a try to see if you like.

I myself don't read Shadowpact, though.

I've read a few issues of Shadowpact. I liked them well enough.

I can't read anything from Willingham without the words "How do you like them apples?" flashing in my mind's eye over and over again, like a horrible nightmare loop. Except with *****ebaggery instead of fear.

Also, I didn't like his first few arcs and just never got into the flow of things.

I was drawn to it by the Cory Walker art, myself.

Shadowpact's the iffiest. Sometimes it's ****in' ON, and sometimes it just is. That might be one to wait for the trades with.

I don't rate Shadowpact and Birds of Prey myself.

I would read all 4. The first 2 are superior to the latter, but all worth it.

Boostergold -Yes! Go. GET. it. NOW!!! Great book, better than his first series by far. Maybe best book at DC right now.
Checkmate - Don't know
Shadowpact - Good, not great. Decent read for my $3.
Birds of Prey - Don't know

Booster Gold - Very enjoyable book, tends toward comedic.
Checkmate - Great drama/spy thriller.
Shadowpact - Don't know.
Birds of Prey - Hard to say, really, since the book is in transition between writers.

I read the first 12 or so of Shadowpact. It was good, but I just didn't really feel like sticking around on it so I dropped it. Booster Gold is amazing. I don't like spy stuff so I didn't like Checkmate, and I've never read Birds of Prety.

Oh, so you're still hung up on the he hates teh gays thing. Stereotypical.

Dude. What the hell are you talking about?

Boostergold - Nope
Checkmate - Nope
Shadowpact - Nope
Birds of Prey - Used to be, don't know about now.

The only worth while DC books are AllStar Supes, JSA, Blue Beetle, and GL/GL Corps thats about it.

Shadow pact is the only one I don't recommend. Everything else is good. Especially Checkmate and Booster Gold.

Booster Gold, from what I've heard has been great. I read the first issue, and it was indeed interesting...but I'm just not interested enough with Michael. But some of the covers look promising for some upcoming stories, so I may snag a few issues from it here and there.

Heard nothing but great and amazing things from Checkmate, but the whole lot of what has been out so far, and so far I've loved every issue. Highly recommend it.

I enjoyed the Shadowpact Infinite Crisis tie-in a whole lot. I believe the name was Day of Vengeance that "created" the team. But I've heard mixed feelings about their new title. Mostly have been negative though. :(

I've heard nothing but good things from BoP...but that was pre-OYL. Not sure about now.

It's been good. It feels a bit meandering and like "filler" after Bedard took over for Simone because it's all been a series of one-issue shorts that don't have any longterm anythings in mind -- which makes sense considering that Sean McKeever takes over in December -- but those one-issue shorts have been pretty good and fun so far.

Bedard is getting a rep for being the guy to go to when you want "padding" issues between your ongoing writers, which is too bad because Bedard himself is a damn good writer.

Is Metal Men worth reading? I'm just getting started liking them (52) and wonder if the series is any good.

I've heard a lot of good things about it, but the first issue didn't leave me wanting more, so I never picked up the rest.

If you're really good at following confusing narrative and even more confusing (but cute!) art, Metal Men ends up being an excellent comic. Give the first issue a try and see what you think.

Checkmate and Booster Gold are both great. Definitely read them.

Shadowpact is all right, but nothing special. There was an issue last month written by Matthew Sturges (the Jack of Fables writer) and drawn by Doug Braithwaite, and that was actually really good. Then it went back to Willingham and some other artist and it was just average again. Basically, without Sturges' humor and pretty visuals, it's not really worth reading. So I wouldn't recommend it (unless you really like Zauriel and Blue Devil, like me).

Birds of Prey sucked when I quit reading it, but that was about a year ago now, so it may have gotten better.
