I can't really see this going anywhere but I thought Aykroyd would have learned his lesson from Blues Brothers 2000. I guess Afterlife got to his head. A Ghostbusters sequel can still work without Harold Ramis but just like BB 2000 didn't work without Belushi, a Great Outdoors sequel won't work without John Candy.

Aykroyd is a crazy man and I love him for it, but he should stick to making vodka.

Stop Dan.

It's over.

You futzed around with GB3 for decades.

Time has passed you, and frankly it did so a long time back.

Retire.

I just don't think people are interested in watching DA anymore.

I would rather he just produce new talent in a similar set up - so many films are formulaic that we wouldn't even notice.
But Candy is unique...

The original is from my generation, but if I’m being honest, it kind of sucked. Or at least Aykroyd did in it.

I did not expect to see a Sign of the Apocalypse when i logged in!

Yeah, Aykroyd's kinda out of his mind as of late.

Still psyched to see him and the old gang in GB3 though. But this...woof.

I can't really blame him for it. The last time the poor guy headlined a movie was when he voiced Yogi Bear. He seems like a nice guy who just really misses the good old days. Belushi's death really messed him up.

This idea is worse than Triplets

Great Outdoors is an 80s classic and the reason the movie worked so well was in large part because of John Candy. I don’t see how a sequel would work

I'll actually go out and say...

Great Outdoors is not at all a classic.

It was on cable when a chunk of the fan population were growing up but on release and in the subsequent years it's never really been looked at as anything other than a National Lampoon's Vaction lesser clone.

Just cuz Candy and Ackroyd are involved doesn't make it classic... Or good.

Going To see Ghostbusters Afterlife because of Nostalgia & Missing Harold Ramis.

Dan is not is not really a draw for me.

Last I heard ,they are still making Triplets.

I know, which is why I used it as an example

Some movies just don't need or shouldn't get sequels. Leave well enough alone.
