The Green Hornet

I do agree that they tend to pull the trigger a bit too fast on giving certain things their own forums

'Wanted' comes to mind

It looks like GH fans lucked out in the end. HAvent seen the film yet, but it seems much more faithful than the other almost adaptations

So this has actually been a long-time coming for Gondry, huh? Although I'm thankful some of those original ideas didn't see their way into the film.

And while most people were gung ho when Stephen Chow was involved, implanting a chip in Britt's brain to control him would have been equally stupid as Nicholas Cage wanting to do his role with a Jamaican accent.

If that's the case, he might as well have just done the whole thing dressed up like Fu Manchu. Ridiculous.

I'm going to see this film with an open mind , however I'm still not convinced this will be a proper adaptation of The Green Hornet. Van Williams portrayal of Britt Reid in the tv series showed that Britt was very intellegent and was without a doubt the brains of the team while Kato was just the sidekick . Based on the trailers and tv spots Seth's Britt is a complete idiot and Kato seems more like the brains.

Check out the tv series

I didn't think I'd want to see this movie. Then the reviews sounded ok, so I was leaning toward it. But then I saw a tv spot where they are singing along to Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" and that just killed any interest I had in it.

so im watching the tv show on Syfy and....I need to start dressing better

Man, when Kato starts singin' LV's breakdown, I was dyin'! :woot:

"It's something that Evan would constantly have to remind me of throughout the process, in that this is kind of exactly what we thought would happen. From the second we thought of doing a movie like this, I remember talking about it like, 'Everyone's going to think it's going to be insane and terrible and we'll just have to keep our heads down and make it, and then it'll come out and then people will slowly see that we weren't nuts and that it was actually a good idea.' "

"As you get wrapped up in it, as there's two years of time where people are saying how bad it is, without having seen anything, it does get frustrating and, ultimately, just disappointing, more than anything. You look at these outlets that, as a comic book nerd, I kind of respected at times and thought were interesting voices just say things that are insane and completely uninformed and uneducated and based on no reality whatsoever, and it's kind of like, 'Oh, that's disappointing. I thought these guys were cool.' But they're not. They're just like everybody else."

"It is nice that people actually have to base their assumptions on the movie now and not just what they think the movie is going to be like."

Just out of curiosity, how much do you guys have to pay in the US or UK to see this movie in 3D ?

Here in germany I have to pay about 12€ which translates to 16$ right now..

9€ ( 12$ ) when i see it at a monday,tuesday or wednesday...

And the other thing is, I have no other choice.. it isnt screened in 2D in my or any other city around me... i find that a bit lame if I may say so...

and no Digital Copy sucks. But Ill be getting this eventually

I like the 3pack Combo cover art.
I'll pick this up eventually as well. Depends on what the best discounted release week price is if I pick it up that week.
Plus my entertainment money is mostly alloted to THOR for that week, 2 showings if it's as good as I think it might be.

I think they will bring back The Green Hornet as a TV series. Looking at the sucess of the CW Green Arrow and the upcoming Marvel tv series Shield. They just need to cast the right people. I don't think that Seth Rogan was the right fit for The Green Hornet. The Green Hornet has a international fan base aswell because of Bruce Lee.
