well yea i see it myself just being puppets or full cgi work and then maybe get some big names/lesser know guys to be voices. But if they went with a real person like burton's wonka and made him look smaller/many copies that could be cool too.

I wouldn't mind just having their faces projected above the lanterns standing below (cgi). If GL2 comes about (yellow lanterns!!!), then we see them for what they are...

I always thought of the Guardians as being the same person over and over, with slight differences. Like they have the same face (or similar faces), same voice, sort of like they are one being, connected.

It's a toss-up for me - I really wouldn't mind seeing them in the flesh but that's because I'm a fan.

I'm just thinking, keep some things back for the second movie for the GA; it would be cool to see them 'revealed' in Sinestro's uprising, but thinking again, it might belittle Sinestro's might, if the GA suddenly see, not these giants or powerful beings, but little smurfs.

In that regard, maybe it'd be better to show them in the flesh AND incredibly powerful in the first film, to emphasise the Sinestro threat/power.

Ah, to be a writer/director - options options!

Thankfully Guardians don't care what you look like, otherwise they wouldn't have a multicultural Corp. I personally like how the side lines on the head remind me of the hair in the comics.
