It's gonna be damn tough if Trump keeps acting like he does, he's already pissed off a lot of GOP members and several of them are having to think about actively not supporting him to even have a chance to keep their seats. One thing I will tell you though is the average Joe who votes against Trump/Clinton is then going to just vote down party lines at that point. Rare is the person who does actual research before casting their ballot.

Trump can't win. He keeps being gifted these incredible campaign incidents, such as the San Jose incidents or this latest Orlando shooting (could have made some inroads with LGBT and Hispanics but noooooo... ) and he just messes it up every single time. It's unbelievable.

He's no politician.

It goes without saying these are horrible tragedies but if Trump was this cunning business genius some make him out to be he would have pounced on the opportunity to not only make inroads with those groups but to also used that as an opportunity to pivot to the middle to start trying to win independents. Instead he doubles down on his asinine rhetoric and has people in his own party afraid to say they agree/support him.

Unless I'm mistaken, Sandy Hook was the only incident where the firearms weren't recently obtained by the shooter. That guy took his mother's guns if I'm not mistaken. The rest, or a large majority, bought them only a short time before the shootings.

I have no idea. It seemed like a losing race since you have people stocking up immediately after these events while politicians discuss policy changes.

Its a modern more effecient and effective weapon. There is no reason for civillians to barred from owning a better modern rifle design just because it visually looks like a military weapon.

Itd be like barring a civillian from owning a Beretta 9mm because the military uses it. Or a Colt .45 which is also used by the military. Glocks are used all over the world by militaries. Are those supposed to be off limits for civillians too?

When the next advancement in rifle or pistol design happens are we going to stick with an inferior design because we are afraid that some psycho might use that superior design?

Limit magazine capacity and never let civillians have full auto weapons, but refusing to let a civillian own a modern current weapon just because the military is sensible enough to use a version of that superior design is as foolish as the idea of banning civillians from owning any guns at all.

Also, keep in mind that pistols are used in more crimes than rifles (AR or otherwise) which is why pistols are more heavily regulated. Also, pistols can use large capacity magazines and a shooter can carry multiple pistols and has the potential to be just as deadly as a person carrying an AR and a person carrying multiple pistols is less noticeable. The way people single out the AR design is silly.

I first off want to say that I support the watch list and extensive background checks, though the manufacturing company should in no way be held responsible...

But above all else I would like to point out that America is the only one of the countries that have suffered an attack like this and in turn pushed a separate agenda to the forefront. #Congrats

So it seems that at least one Senator doesn't like that the right to due process is what's hanging up the latest gun control legislation, limiting the gun rights of those on the no-fly and terror watch lists.

Dem Senator Complains About Constitutional Protections: ‘Due Process is Killing Us Right Now’

A Democrat complaining about not being able to circumvent a protected Constitutional right? Color me surprised. :o

But hey, if they can get one more liberal on the Supreme Court, maybe they'll "discover" an exception to the Due Process clause that will conveniently allow the left to strip a constitutional right solely by putting a name on a list.

I can't imagine that could ever be abused . . .

any weapon that can be easily converted into an automatic weapon should not be owned by civilians

What Is It Like to Fire an AR-15? It's Horrifying, Menacing, and Very, Very Loud

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/firing-ar-15-horrifying-dangerous-loud-article-1.2673201

The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.
What a delicate little left-wing snowflake. :funny:

PTSD? PTSD??? And temporary PTSD, at that? Did he get licensed to make such a diagnosis from Tumblr? :loco:

When I was a teenager, my brother and I were handed two semi-automatic AK-47s owned by a family friend and turned loose on their rural property with a box of ammo.

Horrifying? No, exhilarating.
Menacing? No, because my brother and I are law-abiding citizens with years of informal training from growing up around guns.
Very, very loud? Well, he was right about that. But, we had protective ear muffs.** They can prevent Temporary PTSD, I've heard. :o

EDIT: **OK, so the guy was wearing ear protection. Clearly, it wasn't enough . . .

I think its less about being a snowflake and more about some folks just aren't exhilirated wielding an instrument of death

hell I served 6 years in the military, USN, had regular firearms training, quals, and safety

once I left I wanted nothing to do with guns unless absolutely necessary

Temporary PTSD? I'm not totally comfortable with firearms either but *come on.* That's ridiculous. Some progressives are ruining what words like "trauma" actually mean. You don't have ****ing PTSD from firing a weapon at a shooting range you goddamn baby.

What up Shipmate? I was a Boatswain's Mate onboard FFG-57 USS Rueben James and CG-65 USS Chosin out in Pearl Harbor. Where were you stationed?

The funny thing about that story is the 7 year old girl that was able to successfully handle the weapon without a bruised shoulder or "temporary ptsd".

Here in SoCal, I was under the impression that you need a gun permit or license in order to buy guns. But i walked into this gun store once with some friends and asked how we can get a gun (just curiosity, we didn't buy anything), and he basically said we just take some 10 minute test or survey for some permit and we'd be able to get the gun. I'm a total noob in all this, so does that sound right? Maybe I'm naive, lol, but I would imagine things would be a lot more strict when it comes to firearms.

Shotgun or rifle. Handguns have a bit stricter laws and there's a waiting period. They will actually send your application out to be checked for handguns.

Thre are banks in the South that give out rifles for opening an account with them.

Haha the S***y Kitty huh? I heard all kinds of crazy stories about that ship. Did you hear they locked down drinking for all service members out in japan after a string of booze-related incidents?
