The Guns thread

In find it strange that a person can openly carry a gun in public but, if I forget to tuck my Wang back into my trousers, that's a huge problem.

Paul Ryan: This sit-in is a publicity stunt.

*cut to the GOP's candidate's entire campaign*

lol okay gurl

reminds me of ted cruz, mr 20 hours of blather about obamacare and shutting down the gov't, saying last weeks filibustering was nothing but political theater...

So is this it then? Are we back to the wild west?

Actually, they had more gun control in the wild west than in a lot of places today.

I'm very proud of the House Democrats. And I hope they will keep raising the rooftop even when the GOP are counting their NRA money.

Paul Ryan is going to be so stunned when the HBO biopic about this hits in a few years and he finds himself not being portrayed as the hero.

Well done to the German police for taking care of that with a minimum of fuss: 0 casualties.

Guns in heated situations can result in such tragedies. Poor girls, poor father.

The democrats need to realize they are never going to take guns away from the American people. Or regulate them. That's one argument the left will never win and they need to accept it and move on. Because they try, or if they pass legislation that says otherwise, hell will break loose.

Back off blue

Its like the right and gay marriage.....walk away.

If I wave a magic wind and take gun rights away, people aren't going to stop violently dying via guns and other weapons. I'll actually wager that crime, abuse, and even police brutality would increase. I'm for more stringent background checks but that's it. How about we focus on putting food on the table of broke families and not turning a tragic attack into a political agenda, ok!

Guns are already regulated. Poorly. But, nonetheless, certain regulations have stood judicial review. Really the main hurdle is the NRA and fanatics.

Also your issue seems to be more with sane people than Democrats. 90% of Americans want more regulations.

If seeing dozens of children gunned down by a maniac does nothing to make you reconsider your position on America's current, woefully inadequate gun laws, I am concerned about you.

Gay marriage isn't costing tens of thousands of lives every year.

I am glad to see you do at least support background checks. That is certainly a start.

Wasn't gun violence. He had an alarm pistol and a plastic fake grenade because he couldn't get any real ones easily fast. Nobody got killed except for the perp.

You people really need gunlaws.
This happened today: 6y/o accidently kills 4 y/o with mothers gun.

How many times have I heard this?
Atleast make it mandatory to learn how to handle a gun, store it without it's ammo in a gun safe and limit ammo supplies.
Maybe tax bullets? Make 'em 5 usd per round.

Happens all to often. If there's a gun up for graps, high sugar breakfast, people throw a tantrum and pull the trigger in split second of rage. They can't think straight.
If there's no gun, they can't shoot and they are forced to think over their dicision to hurt someone, reason takes over and it's done, nothing happens. The above case show that it can happen to everyone!
“It was a family argument that turned into a shooting,” If there was no gun in the room they would have probably had make-up sex by now, or maybe the mother was being hospitalized for having a sudden psychoses. But their two daughters would still be alive.

That's why the US have brothers shooting each other over a videogame, parents killing their kids over spilt milk or a sacked employee shooting his boss.

Try stabbing your siblings or your boss, it's a lot harder to do, takes longer than a split second and 99,99% won't do it and come to reason.

Try to throw a punch against that big guy that just stole your date, you won't dare.

Try being a cop in a country were you can get shot by everyone (kids, moms, dads, etc) in a split second because you pulled 'em over and they are in a wrong mood, you'll wind up crazy eventually.

Only idiots can't see the simple fact that's staring them right in the face. It makes me sad and furious. It's probably to late anyway, there's just to many guns already.

Think for one second everyone reading this who owns a gun. Would you be able to stop yourself from shooting someone if your were somehow blinded by rage or wasted out of your mind for the first time after a party? There's really only one answer, nobody could if there's a gun on the table right in front of you or in the glove compartement of your car.

I'm not sure I would have shot another person at any time if I had a gun, but I think I would have shot myself at some point.

There's almost a gat per person in the USA, population is like 320m and there are around 300m guns in circulation apparently - this beast has its own will now, there's no stopping it until something truly cataclysmic happens.

Yeah maybe me too. When I was in puberty I had so many feelings rushing through me.

It must be a perennial problem for people who own guns and work in stressful jobs. And how many of those might toy with the idea of taking a few with them?

As it is, after a crap day at work, I reach for a bottle of red instead of a 9mm.
