The Healthy Hypesters Challenge

you should drink green tea, it helps with being hungry and it's really good for you

I drink like tons of the stuff

i dunno if i like green tea. i really didn't like it the last time i drank one.

but i've been on my routine almost 5 days so far and doing good

I would like to boost my bench up to 405, while also having a visible six pack

just thought i'd bump this for kicks and see if anyone has accomplished their goals

I posted this before on a different thread. But I didn't see this one.

Last year I kinda hit a really really low point. I ate what I wanted and drank very very heavily.

I'm 5ft 10, I went up to 174 pounds. Was smoking alot. Eating bad food. And working at a job that didn't help morale or my sanity.

I wanted to get back to my High school senior weight of 153. And the body I had when I did some modeling.

It was a gradual process not all at once.

So I quit my job during a economic crisis. Two days before christmas and Flew To LA and cleared my head out there for awhile
To save my what little sanity I have first.

Then I quit smoking. I began to take up running alot. First it was difficult. Then I changed up my diet. No soda, less fried foods and alot less beer. More salads, Oatmeal, apples, Diet green tea.

I run alot 4 to 5 times a week. Always between 3 and a half to 5 miles.

This started last January. It tool time. But right now I'm between 149-151. I live up to my hype name "Bruce Banner" and 8 months without a cigarette.

Now I want to run in a marathon. Or a charity run or something. I feel it would be good for me.

Have you ever run in a race? I'd say start with a local 5-10k, work yourself up to a half marathon, if nothing else it'll help you learn how to navigate the atomsphere of a race. Also try to find and join a training program 3-5 miles isn't bad to run by yourself, but the 10-20 mile runs in months 2 and 3 of training, helps to have other people with you. Running a marathon is great experience, but something you really should build to.

I'm in. I've been running since 2005 but forgot about it once I broke up with my girlfriend in '07. I began to run once again at the beginning of '08 cause a really let myself go, but once I got used to my routine I found some people dead on the road while the murders were there, twice. Anywho, I just started a month ago and seeing the results, so my goal is to tone up, lift some weights and stay in shape.

glad to see people have achieved their goals and that more are joining in.

i lost twice what my goal was, so yay for me :)

ive kept off what i've lost since the beginning of the year, but im still only half-way to what i want. and i havent really been motivated to lose much more. :csad:

i went for a jog yesterday for the first time in ages. felt good

i really need to step my game up and get back on track, i'd like to lose another 10 lbs before thanksgiving

I ran close to 5 miles today. I ran faster than normal. I was pumped to run more than usual. That and the day was beautiful. I was on a role. I plan to go again tomorrow and sunday. Friday and Saturday will be a relax day.

I came to the end of a long road last week. About 18 months ago, tests revealed that I needed reconstructive surgery on both of my arms, each one requiring 6-7 months of post-op physical therapy.

The therapy has extremely painful and getting my strength back wasn't easy. However, as my therapist was doing manual resistance with me he felt me begin to lift him off of the ground with my surgically repaired left arm. He said, "Big guy, I don't think I want to play any more."

Thank you, God.:woot:

congrats!!!

Thanks. The birthdays keep coming (I'm 36 now) but, as I always tell my wife, I won't simply let age and time take me. They are going to have to drag me away while I scream and pound on them mercilessly.

due to some issues with my car, I have had to walk to work all this week and it's been a blessing in disguise...its exactly three miles from my apartment building to my office....a long straight road with a bit of a hill at the end...monday sucked, but the rest of the week Ive felt great.....dropped a couple pounds I think as well

Good to hear BL. Sorry bout your car though

I tried to go for a quick jog last night but the pressure was bothering my stitches so I settled for a nice walk.

I did 30 pushups yesterday too. One set of 10 and one of 20. I'm going to try and do that every day. I've been doing it off and on about 6 weeks but I want to do no less than 20 a day.

well when I get my car back, Ill probably get up early like I have been and go for a walk on the bike trail near my apartment...just to keep it going
