This is a thread to discuss the level 5 escapees and any other notable villains on Heroes.

So introducing 5 of the 12 escapees.

Now discuss.

Knox powers sound very interesting, I personally like the sound of his powers. It sounds creative and different.

And just for everyone who will probably ask "What's the difference between blue flames and regular flames" - blue flames are hotter.

hahahaha

I just thought I'd put it out there since some people at work who watch HEROES along with me asked what the hell was the difference between blue and red flames.

Everytime I saw the preview of Flint shooting the flame I kept saying "did he just do a Hadoken?"

The German almost sounds like Magneto and I guess Doyle has persuasion powers like Eden had. I wonder if there's a woman in the group?

is the second dude the right (the one wit his foot up on the bed) the mailman from the Heroes mini-sode?

Geez, Francis looks fatter and more rotund since leaving Neptune. :(

Oh... this is where all the black people are on Heroes... in Jail! Of course. I should have known.

I wonder if all of a sudden the writers will have the ability to write compelling African Americans, since they won't have to break any stereotypes.

Coupled with writing out Monica and Micah, that, to me, signals that these writers aren't as smart or talented as the first season guys.

^^^What Micah is out too? That new news to me...that is sooo lame.

Anyway, I REALLY like Knox's power. That is pretty cool imo. And The German was definitely introduced in a Heroes Graphic Novel, he is pretty ruthless and brutal. I think Jesse Murphy is basically another version of Echo Demille.

Not interested in Flint, the fat guy can be interesting.
I think it wouldve been ironic if they had like some Al Queda or other terrorist member in the group, imagine how destructive a crazy religous extremist could be with actual super powers? :wow:...that'd make an interesting charecter imo.

Yeah, other than having powers I hope they aren't typical thugs. And it's funny you mention the jail thing, because that's where D.L. was at first.

Echo and Jesse may be related. On Echo's Assignment Tracker profile at Primatech Paper, it says he has a troubled half-brother name Jesse.

And I totally agree on the lack of compelling African-American characters, depsite the fact that they are in jail, I hope Knox and Echo are good characters.

No. It's a new character named Stephen Canfield.

Every time I see that picture of Eric Doyle, I want to smack him. He looks goofy to me.

And I hope these villains teach Sylar how to be one... or smack him around.

And I'm supposed to believe this is going to be the best season ever? There's a rant I can easily put here, but whatever. At least its not as bad as Lost, I guess. At least there ARE black characters. I guess I'm just supposed to accept that in this universe, af-am men come from jail. Law abiding black men are from other countries. Meh.

yet you fail to acknowledge that not only black people are in "jail" and it's not because they robbed a store or shot up some rival gang...it's because they are huge mutant threats. jesus christ, I hate it when the racist card has to be pulled for everything. Are you seriously saying that the season will suck just because there's black people in jail? get over it dude.

And I hate it when I point out blantant trends and people get upset and say 'race card.' I acknowledge that there are non-blacks on level 5, I acknowledge that they are huge mutant threats AND I acknowledge that Heroes does have one black male who is not in jail (The Haitian). And while the last is an interesting break from 'all black people come from jail' thinking, the former two doesn't change the effect or the source.

I could write a paper on things you haven't acknowledged. If a team of writers can't figure out how to write a black man that doesn't fit the black stereotype writing tropes (big scary black man and magical negro) then, yeah, that means they lack some skills. The ability to break stereotypes, especially ones as OLD and TIRED as black ones is a pretty basic one. This is not rocket science, this is writing creatively as opposed to copy pasting.

Seriously... that writers can't figure out how to write a black lead who isn't a criminal doesn't seem like a problem to you? Would you think highly of writers who constantly applied a singular extremely negative stereotype to all characters of your race? Why are all the hispanic Heroes illegal immigrants? Why are all the Anglo-american characters vicious racists? Why are all the Asian characters arrogant jerks?

'race card... get over it!'

But, yeah, I'm over it... I'm no longer upset. I'm still disappointed. I'd expect more from professional writers with such a wide-open premise.

so how does that make you feel?... nevermind
but yeah i wuz kinda hoping the mail guy would be in the series since they took the time to make a whole nine minute long series for him.

Knox power sounds really interesting, this can guy stronger as long as people are afraid.
