We all have our favorite superheroes and even our favorite villains . We love them for different reasons but mostly because we connect with them and the things they represent. We see a bit of ourselves in their characters and struggles. Sometimes because they represent the people we are or the people we strive to be . For me comics was an escape from the real world , not having the best of relationships with my father and a difficult childhood due to this they gave me an escape . This thread may ask you to open up a little more than you would normally but I find the idea very intriguing.

The Flash/ Wally West : my all time favorite superhero and the one I connect with the most . Wally was a normal kid with a not so great childhood with an Uncle who was a hero that he idolized . He wanted to be just like him and ended up following in his footsteps. I had an Uncle who was a cop and was a father figure that was my hero . I wanted to be just like him . He is a man that was highly intelligent, strong, and of high morals . I grew up wanting to follow in his footsteps and became a firefighter ( he was a cop but same concept , public service) . I have often looked to him and his examples in my life . He is the Barry Allen to my Wally West .

I'd say that much of my outlook on life and passions align with Oliver Queen. I feel as though his character resonates with me. We both are passionate advocates who had complicated families. I especially relate to his current Rebirth run. We both are driven and passionate but many times at the expense of personal relationships.

Good question. It's taken me a while to consider my answer.

I'm reading the Chuck Dixon Nightwing run. Really connecting with Grayson. The sarcastic humor even in dark situations, the struggle of being a young man finding my place in life and stepping out of the shadow of a father figure.

Matt Murdock is the man I want to be. A man without fear. No matter how terrible life can get, I've got to pick myself up again and be the best I can be.

Hal Jordan. The strive to get out and see the universe (obviously not literally) but a metaphor to get out on an adventure. The high confidence and ability to overcome fear and take on all challenges no matter how big.

Kyle Rayner. Put in a position I don't feel comfortable in and probably not the best qualified for the job, but just going with the flow anyways. Sometimes, all I really want to do is daydream and work on art all day.

The question is interesting. But how we see ourselves can not be objectiv.
In the US comicbooks world, I'd say I see myself as a kind of Superman/Clark Kent, but I'm pretty sure that in reality I'm as stupid and stubborn and rash as Hal Jordan or Guy Gardner.
I suppose I'm in the middle.

Oddly enough, I always felt very connected with Lex Luthor. The Lois & Clark Lex Luthor made a huge impression on me back in the 90es and I always had a special spot for the character since then. I admire some aspect of his personnality (not the evil one obviously!).

In European Comics, Largo Winch or Bob Morane for sure.
