I prefer NCIS. If they write Barry as if he were Mark "F**king" Harmon, then I'd be willing to pick the book up again.

I say Wally but I don't really read too many Flash comics.

I'd prefer they make it like Law & Order and put one of those sound chips like you find in greeting cards with the "dun-dun" sound on any page with a scene transition.

Barry was the Flash I was introduced to. I like Barry, and tried for a long while to dismiss the Wally-Flash.

But time passed and the kid met the test. He became the Flash, not just the guy who currently wore the costume.

Wait...how the hell can you criticize Barry's costume design when his costume looks almost exactly the same as Wally and Barts'?

Seriously, the only difference between Barry's costume and that of his successors was the belt and the boots lacking those stick thingys.

That's a rather piss poor argument on account that Hal Jordan was the Green Lantern for the Silver Age and whatnot but look at what Geoff Johns has done with the character. He's done a great job bringing him back to the modern era.

And Barry does have chemistry with other characters. He's an important part of the Flash mythos by being the father figure to Wally and grandfather to Bart. They will be heavily affected by his return. Barry was also very close to Zatanna, Hal Jordan, Oliver Queen, and Black Canary. There are going to be characters, particularly the other Flashes, that will be heavily affected by Barry's return.

Seriously, I can't fathom why people can't be open minded about Barry Allen's return? It worked for Hal Jordan, it can work for Barry, especially since Johns in charge of bringing him back. It's not like Wally is going to get completely screwed over.

Three writers messed up Barry. Bates primarily for not letting go of the book after the death of Iris and running it into the ground doing the same old stories with a new cast of characters. Englehart for making him a wuss unfit to clean the boots of his betters (as in 'those JLAers Englehart liked') and Conway(?) for the JLA tale where he took Wally's stating himself to be a conservative as liscense to make Barry an irrational anti-commie.

(Dishonorable mention to Frank Robbins whose mixing Rs and Ls Japanese in his Samaroids story arc was a plain embarrassment to comics as a whole, and Broome or Fox, whoever came up with that 'An angel, not random lightning gave Barry his powers.)

Wally "WALL Eeeee" West

Barry Allen personality doesn't exactly match with being Flash.

Barry would me my favourite. Mainly because I grew up with him. I really love reading them all.

Bart, cuz he's the first Flash I got to read about in the comics. I'm a Wally fan too though

I started out reading mostly Barry Allen stories. I like his origin, and scientific background. I haven't bought any Flash comics in about 3 years, but I'm looking forward to the upcoming "Rebirth" series.

CSI has never been my cup of tea either. It's an interesting idea, but I don't know how it'd work with a speedster. Nightwing Maybe, but I don't think The Flash would fit into a CSI/Quincy type formula.

Flash has already worked in one - Barry Allen was a Police forensics scientist, albeit without modern CSI style techniques.

Barry was the Flash, when I started reading comics and he is my favourite Flash. He was straight-laced, but never dull or boring, in fact of the heroes about during his era, he was one of the most interesting. More than once he used his scientific knowledge along with his powers to find solutions to problems. While I don't dislike Wally, he's never used his mind along with his powers the way Barry did

You haven't read much of Grant Morrison's JLA run or Mark Waid's Flash run, have you?

Actually I own all these comics and have read them - but I still stand by my statement. Its down to the type of character Wally is and the type of character Barry is.

I'm not some Wally hater, in fact I really like Wally and when Barry died, I actually liked the idea that Wally would take up the legacy. But they are different characters and because of this used their powers in different ways.

I'm also not saying Wally is stupid or doesn't think about things either, and particularly in recent years, he has used his mind a lot more. But he's always been an average guy, who was a superhero because he loved being a superhero. He was easy going and a bit of a smartass (though both these are less so in recent years) and early in his career he accomplished a lot through trial and error and pushing things to the limit.

In contrast Barry was older when he got his powers and was an established Scientist. He also wasn't an easy going, adventurous character like Wally, but more straight-laced and methodical in his approach to life (hence why I guess somepeople remember him as dull). So he immediately applied his scientific knowledge and brain to the way he used his powers.

Whereas Wally used his heart on more occasions to find a solution, Barry used his mind.

Wally West

Hes funny and likeable. He has a much be relationship with the Rogues, befriends a few for awhile. I always thought that implied a greater care in rehabilitation than crime-stopping although I dont think it was ever really explored. The mantle passing, stepping out of the shadow arc is always interesting. Theres definity a Spiderman like quality to it. He's full of heart which is always a great characteristic for a hero as well as a relatable fictional character. Plus I like the lightning bolts instead of the wings.

Barry is my favorate. I like all the Flashes except Bart. I cannot reallys ee why there can't be three Flashes around. There are lready two and multiple Green lanterns. Have you guys heard that Wally could be getting another costume and still be the Flash as well? I am hearing that Barry will be in the red outfit, which makes since since he wore that outfit first and Wally will be in another. Can anyone verify this?

I'm eagerly anticipating an image of Wally's new costume. I hope it looks at least somewhat decent.

After finally getting the Flash comics a few months ago of both Barry and Wally, I sat through them extensively, and almost read all of Barry's time as the Flash, and some of Wally's

I've always favored Barry as the Flash, reading the old comics my dad owns back then, and watching Barry in the TV show, I always attached the name "The Flash" to Barry Allen
Once I saw a JLA comic and opened the first page, the name of the Flash under the mask was new to me, I thought "What? Barry Allen"

Now after reading the comics recently, I prefer Barry, still, dude revived the name The Flash, made the costume, the ring, and stuff, a lab guy, and he loves comics, I love a comic book character enjoying comic books (a reason I enjoy the Ninja Turtles), got married pretty early, was a father figure to Wally, and kept his identity a secret, I prefer the ID to be a secret
Barry did accept rehabilitation of villains, it's not something exclusive to Wally, he approved and endorsed the rehabilitation of both the original Mr Element/Dr. Alchemy, and Mick Rory as Heat Wave
And when I see his abilities, I like them more, can phase through walls without blowing things up, still faster than the fastest Wally ever became, never burnt anything behind him

I like Barry in Rebirth and volume 3, but hate the idea of killing his mother by Thawne and that nonsense, and Flashpoint -interesting as it is- made Barry kind of a selfish *****e, the original use of his cosmic treadmill was to return things back to normal to some degree, like returning villains from another time to their right time, not for anything personal

I never read the Golden Age Flash adventures, not fond of Golden Age comics. With Barry, Wally and Bart Jay made a great mentor, supporting character, and father/grandfather figure, but never read enough of him to judge him fully as a character

Wally is great, I'd call him my second favorite Flash, his greatness gone full throttle after he got together with Linda Park, before that he had some awful *****e moments like his lone time with Tina McGee
It's great to see him side by side with the grand son of his mentor and uncle, and he was lucky to get great writers like Geoff Johns and Mark Waid work on his stories, see him grow, get married, have children, see them grow
Then they were gone, like a puff of smoke
