The Hills Have Eyes 2

I'll have to agree the opening scene was no prediction of how the rest of the film was going to go.
It was pretty much cat and mouse the whole way through. Wes has a sick sense of humor and I love him for it. There was some pretty funny dialogue, kind of reminiscent of Aliens. I'm set on 5/10.

Just being curious, how many mutants are in this one? And how do they differ from the ones in the first one?

I think there was a total of 5,that I can remember.
I think was more about survival, continuing the blood line. Where I think the first was more about survival via food. You had one which was clearly the Dad,he was called so by one. There was one that helped and I guess was an outcast/ sympathizers like Ruby in the first one. There was a grandfather that was blind, wore glasses and relied heavily on smell. And at least one or two more.

But these guys were actually in the mines.

^ Thank you. Thats one of the main reasons why I want to see the movie, the mutants.

Quite entertaining. I went with a buddy to see this yesterday. There were three girls infront of us that squealed and nearly jumped out of their seats at the "jump scares". And by no means were they small ladies.

What was the significance of the brutal opening?

There were some women that did some major squealing at the final fight. I never heard such.

*I think the opening had to do with the fact that they were trying to maintain their existence. It was pretty ghastly, ugh. :csad:

Everything else was pretty good, birth scene aside. What was up with the ending
the hand that shuts the computer displaying the heat-vision stuff of the survivors

I guess that was the one that got away. There had to be someone above all the others. They didn't really seem to be in the postion of power.
I guess there will be a third. IDK. :csad:

Wes said if it makes enough Momey a Third one will be made.

I sa it yesterday and thought it was pretty cool. Not better then the remake of the first. but a whole hell lot better then the original The Hills Have Eyes 2. that was a just a big piece of 80's crap.

Agreed.

BOM is reporting that it made $10,000,000, for this weekend, Not to bad considering all the very tough competition.

yeah it came in 6th place. you had all those new releases plus 300 and wild hogs from previous weeks.

isn't one else shocked at how much wild hogs has made? Its made over 100 million domestic. you know there probably gonna ke a sequel now.:csad:

Wild hogs is making a killing off movies like, 300, Shooter, and THHE2.

TMNT was helped out alot by those movies too.

Just got back from seeing it.

Must say i had a blast! Didn't go in with high expectations, which is a good thing with a movie like this. It's a good gore filled popcorn flick.

Question: The girl giving birth at the beginning wasn't one of the women from the first movie was she?

I don't think so. there was only one left.

I guess she was just a random they kidnapped a few years ago.

I seen it last night, I had a fun time. I thought that the mutants could've had more of an impact. Especially the last one and the one that blends into stuff. I liked the end, hopefully theres a third, I wouldn't mind it.

Well i think it was wes and thw studio that said if it does aswell as the first one were get a third one.

Joblo said the budget for THHE2 was only 15 million. So we might get a third! :woot:

I just got back from seeing it. All the people I went with said it was the worst movie they've ever seen. I was like; "Dude, it was just a fun little killer mutant flick, what the hell did you want?"

I liked it. Nothing deep, just good old fashioned mutant mayhem.

I may be in the minority here, but I loved it, in my opinion Hills Have Eyes remake franchise, continues to be the class of the remakes, along with Dawn of the Dead

Me I dug every minute of it, acting was shakey but not bad enough to take me out of the movie, the writing was okay, but it was the pay off that made this movie so viciously wonderful...Some of the great horror movies are all about the build up, Halloween, TCM, NDDotD, but these two movies are masters at the pay off, the build up fromt the outside seems like it is bad, cause when you see the hand lingering there, you are just thinking to yourself "I garuntee a guy stabs him in the hand he is just asking for it" normally that would make a bad scene, and many of those would make a bad horror movie...But HHE has been so great with methods of killing people, that they want you to know that the guy is gunna get his hand stabbed or cut off, because they want you to fear what might come next, how will they stab or cut his hand off, not if...but how

I give it 3 stars, or 8/10 or whatever, I had fun

Why do they always edit the rape scenes like they do, think it was the MPAA that made them do it? This applies to Missy's rape in this one, and the rape scene in number 1. Yeah, we know the girl was being raped but with all the other **** that was going on in the movie it wouldn't have made it any grossser to see a little more of what was going on in that scene. I know i sound like a perv, but it's not like this movie was a PG 13....
