was listening to It's Dark and Hell is Hot earlier

the good ole days...

Yep.

He's still in prison correct? When's he supposed to be out?

And what has happened to the major players in hip hop from a decade ago? Other than Jay Z, Eminem and (to a lesser degree) Ludacris, most have been MIA. P Diddy has been doing movies, DMX is in prison, Nas, Method Man, Nelly, Ja Rule, Busta Rhymes and Redman have somehow disappeared from the hip hop scene the last several years. Snoop Dogg had an album released last year but that hasn't been as big as Jay Z's latest. Wyclef Jean released a single earlier this year (Hold On) about the Haiti Earthquake and was just rejected as candidate for president of Haiti.

Of course, with Nas, Method Man, Nelly, Ja Rule, Busta Rhymes and Redman M.I.A. from hip hop we see the emergence of Kanye West, Drake, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida, B.O.B and a few others. I do hope though that Nas, Method, Ja, Busta, Redman, Nelly and DMX make their returns to hip hop.

We've all seen Ludacris, Eminem and Jay Z all come back in grand fashion in 2010 and I hope we see the same for some of the guys I mentioned above.

Nas has an album out right now with Damian Marley.

And anyone actually looking for more albums from Puffy probably needs to be harmed.

Curious if any of you posters have watched BET's Hip-Hop Awards [Not to be confused with the regular BET Awards?]. Usually they always have a few artists come in and do a freestyle called "The Cypher" you can find them all on youtube, they are all in black and white, and a few names that have been in them range from Joe Budden, K'naan, Bun-B, Eminem, Black Thought, Lupe Fiasco, Papoose, and Jadakiss. Usually the videos have three or four rappers in each. They are pretty clean.

Raekwon posted in his Twitter that he might be in one this year. If you look up the Eminem/Black Thought/Mos Def one, they killed it. But I'm really excited to actually watch this this year.

i love old school Busta Rhymes. Ja Rule was always so-so for me, Nelly was catchy. I would like to see some more Nas.

as for the new class, I like Kanye the most. B.O.B is alright, and Drake is overhyped, much like Weezy. Honestly I like maybe 3 of every 10 songs he puts out

Busta's been around. Arab Money isn't that old and his new song Stop The Party is getting remixed to death. It's almost up there with Beamer Benz Bentley lol

Nelly's got a new song out too. Tippin In The Club

Just got the latest 4-Ize mixtape "Off The Top Rope". ****'s dope

Also found out both dudes from Clipse are putting out solo records. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I've never really listened to Saigon until recently, and I have to say,I should have listened to more of him earlier on.I am now a fan.

I love how Kanye's song last night was like a Kanye Shrug at Taylor Swift's whack-ass song.

Pretty much. Although I did hear a rumor that 'Ye wrote Taylor's song for her and told her that he'd sing it if she didn't.

Eh. I don't buy it. Probably started by Swift fans given that she came off looking like an ass.

I think Runaway is great. It's not as good as Power or Monster, but It's really good.

Y'all need to get the new Black Milk!!! Album of the Year, indeed!!!

there's a great special on BET right now: My Mic Sounds Nice: A Truth about Women in Hip Hop

i couldn't tell you the last time I watched BET but this special is really good.

Did anyone hear that song Start it Up? With Lloyd Banks, Kanye, Fabolous, & Swizz. :wow:
5 years ago this was a dream collabo, but because of G-Unit's many rap beefs I thought it would never happen.

But after hearing it I am very disappointed. The beat is atrocious and the rhymes were pretty meh. Huge disappointment.:csad:
