The Hype Book Club

The Jack Ryan books by Tom Clancy.

Those are awesome books

I've always wanted to get a hold of some Tom Clancy books ever since I first played a game based on his stuff way over 5 or 6 years ago now and have just forgotten every time I went to the bookstore.

They are simply awesome

Clear and Present Danger
The Cardinal of the Kremlin
The Sum of All Fears
Debt of Honor
Executive Orders
The Bear and the Dragon
Red Rabbit

Not necessarily. I read at least 2.5 hours a day (the bus on the way to and from work)

I started the Bourne Supremacy the other day.
Bourne Identity was good too

how would you rate each of the books?

I read all the Ryan books...plus the World War III book by him called Red Storm Rising.

They are all really great books.
All those books are on my website
http://www.digitalentropy.net/bb/index.php/board,20.0.html

But alas, I have not rated them yet.
I would imagine, they are all at LEAST on the 7 out of 10 range...if not more.

Granted Tom Clancy is a very wordy guy. Hence the size of this books.

is Red Strom Rising a different book from the Ryan series or is it part of that?

what do you guys think of James Patterson?

But it goes by way too fast

Correct, Red Storm Rising is a Separate book unto itself. It has no connection to the "Ryanverse"

Good World War III book
