And Groot is an alien that looks like a tree, but apparently doesn't smell like one. He show up in Nick Fury's Howling Commandos(HC) about two years ago, where he was apprehened/recruited by the HC, a special S.H.I.E.L.D. taskforce charged with hardly supernatural threats, most of whose members are themselves supernatural. He is currantly on the Kree homeworld Hala, part of a team led by Peter Quill, AKA: Starlord, whose mission is to destroy a mass assimilation device being developed by the Phalanx. How he got to Kree space is unknown.
