I've got that beat. Having breakfast this morning, and I get a phone call from my sister, our brother's supposedly had a relapse with his drug addiction and may have lost his job. Few hours later I get a call from my dad, my aunt's had a stroke. He calls back an hour later, wasn't a stroke, but in fact a brain tumor.

So by the end of the day I've basically said **** it and am gonna get nice and drunk.

Lots of dogs and cats are diabetic. Their bodies are a lot like ours and they suffer from a lot of the same sort of diseases we do. Diabetes can be caused by genetics, sedentary lifestyle, and obesity. Sad fact is that lots of indoor pets are overweight and or obese. And owners aren't the best at maintaining a pet's diet. Many pets are overfed and/or given table scraps. Lots owners love their little scruffy cuddly companion and love to give them treats and never let their food bowl get empty. This throws the dogs diet way off and when you compound that with little exercise and obesity and questionable genetics due to generations of inbreeding and selective breeding it's just a recipe for disaster.

I've been having a hell of a time breathing the past few days so I'm calling my doctor in a few hours for an appointment. I thought it was just allergies since it's spring but after a few days of taking the maximum amount of pills on the bottle it hasn't helped any.

Its been an uphill battle with my cocker spaniel the past year. He's about 90 in dog years, and I've been fighting off a nasty ear infection in his right ear. He's still surprisingly active.

I've had trouble breathing too, but it sounds like your situation is far more serious. For me when I try to sleep at night I can't because when my body relaxes I start to gasp for air. I also wake up choking sometimes. I have a general feeling like I'm hungry for air these days too, sighing a lot and feeling fatigued. I hope it's just allergies.

No. But I drink a lot. My weight's average (about 175), but my diet is awful too.

That part about you choking is what's worrying. Have you seen a doc about it?

Well, I have sleep apnea. But it used to be when I was only on my back. Now even when I sleep on my sides, I get it sometimes.

I guess I should see a Doctor. You're right.
