Neither film, for one second, had special effects that could reasonably be described as "very bad". Anyone saying that really needs to check out a Thursday night SciFi movie to gain a bit of perspective.

They didn't hire Lou for motion capture as Hulk. Edward Norton is doing the motion capture for Hulk.

Lou has probably been casted for a cameo or maybe as the voice of Hulk.

And this looks nothing like Lou IMO.

TIH would of been so much cooler if hulk looked like this. He looks way more scary and ruthless there

Sorry i edited that. your rght neither had bad shots. i meant to use the word ok

I still think Sims' "Hulk Final" looks much more realistic than most of the Hulk CGI in this film. At least Abomination is near exact to the final concept art.

Saw the film for the second time today, and I still think the CGI is damn good. Some of the scenes in the final battle look so freaking real, I even though, "Damn, that looks so freaking real." I had that response only once during the 2003 film...but that was because Hulk was just standing around, and nothing else was happening for me to focus on.

Also, does anybody else LOVE how Hulk's eyes flash gamma-green whenever he gets mad?
I totally agree.

rewatching the old Hulk movie....the design is terrible and he really does look like shrek on steriods. This one was way more intimadating... which made him a better CGI character IMO

Yeah! Shrek on riods. And a little like silly putty.
What a gumby!

Just watch this. The nighttime scenes are admittedly poor, but everything else is incredible. I've said this since Ang's Hulk was release, but even though the movie was a big ball of lameness, the CGI was amazing. His movements and actions feel so much more real and fluid than the 2008 Hulk. Breaking out of the water tank actually looks real.

I still think one of the greatest moments in CGI history is that scene in the 2003 Hulk where he breaks out of that ice-cream cone building, pauses for the briefest of seconds, then immediately runs off.

It's okay, but when Bruce's father touches his face Hulk has alot more texture to his skin than that shot in particular.

Is it me or his roar it's nothing impressive at all in the 2003, I didn't remember being so weak

Co-sign.

My favourite shot of the '03 movie. Totally photoreal.

i hope people don't take this like i'm bashing the new hulk, i liked the movie (can't people love both) but in terms of cgi that part is awesome in terms of a cgi creation looking and "feeling" real. the top moment for me, in just terms of cgi, is when he falls from the tree with the dogs and the landing he makes. how he hits and bounces slightly off the ground is incredible. the dust kicking up and the sense of him have real weight when he hits is incredibly realistic.

I just saw Incredible Hulk yesterday, and simply loved it!
I had ONE problem for the whole film, the Hulk looked too much like a Liefield Hulk too me. I preffer a wider chin on Hulk, Liefield would draw Hulk with a pointy kind of chin and it looked like Hulks muscles were beefjerky kind of stringy in his art.
I get the fact that Hulk's supposed to have a look of muscle ripping bigtime ( I had hulk 06- 352?), but it looked like there was NO layer of fat between the skin and muscle to me. THAT was the thing I loved with Ang's Hulk, that layer of fat was there, it was just Ang's Hulk was too big.

I think Hulk has 0% bodyfat in the comics, not sure as I don't read them so I may be wrong.

Well I grew up with the 60's-80's Hulk, there was fat on that Hulk, Liefield drew EVERYONE like that it seemed like.

I don´t see Ang´s hulk as fat hulk, more like he has really thick skin

heh you mis-read that CF. Lieflds Hulk looks like there's NO fat at all between the skin and muscle.
Even on these people who CLIAM to have 0 body fat, there is STILL fat between the skin and muscle.
Buschema, Byrne, Trimpe, and many other artists BEFORE Liefield all drew Hulk with a layer of fat.

Ang's Hulk just had a different physique that was probably influenced by the earlier squarish designs of Hulk. He wasn't fat, but he had more fat to muscle than Hulk 08 who has a lean build.

I know, (maybe i miss quoted you, since I just have been reading some "fat '03 hulk" vs the "lean 0% fat '08 hulk)

I liked that '03 hulk had some thing between his muscles and the skin, and like I said before, he looked like he had thick skin

One of my gripes about the new hulk is not only his lack of that layer of fat, but also that his skin just seems to thin

Ouch!

C'mon Vartha. There's been a fair amount of criticism about R & H's Hulk, but to say it looked like a Liefield Hulk is just plain mean (not to mention insulting to all the folk at R & H). There's a bit of a difference between this:-

and this:-

Untitled-TrueColor-61.jpg

R & H's Hulk has more in common with the like of this rendition of the Hulk (albeit with a lot more vascularity).......

Scan3371-1.jpg

..........than it ever will with anything of Liefields.

Seriously, like Liefield?

That's the worst kind of insult a person can make. :yay:
