state of art? do you know even what this means?
if it would be state of art everyone would have to like it. or at least 95%.

it can nto be state of art if there are not threads like''groudbreaking CGI,this is awsome,....''

the trailer has a good feedback. no doubt about that. but it is not groudbreaking.

the CGI will OBVIOUSLY be good enough for the general public. noone said that they wont like it. they eat everything up. but that doesnt mean that you dont have to try to do the best.
in 2003 a CGI human with hair was something groudbreaking.
He was talking about King Kong.

Gee, why release a trailer at all, why shoulsd any film give a SAMPLE of the final product to advertise it's release months later.

You people are pretty damn wacked out in your expectations. You expect this much from a trailer, it damn funny to think of the other things in your life you give a free pass to. Besides, we all know some of you we're going to bash the Hulk no matter what. You have to, it's CG, hense fake. You gotta point out fake. fake! fake! Not real, Nolanz is Godz!!!
Nope, wrong! :yay:

The real truth is you get angry every time someone doesn't agree with you! It's adorable!

CGI looks fake! Look how angry you are getting!

Your logic is flawed. You claim that anybody who has a problem with the CGI hates all CGI. This is not true, because not only do I recognise King Kong, Transformers and POTC as having fantastic CGI, I also realise that the Hulk in 2003 looked great. So you are undeniably wrong! Haha!

Truth be told, I realise the CGI is unfinished, and am willing to reassess my evaluation once the film is released, but you are doing yourself no favours by getting so angry everytime someone disagrees with you.

3 excellent examples of ground-breaking CGI, Davy Jones in the POTC was fantastic!

Don't flatter yourself, chummy. Your skilled critique of SPFX is far some making me wither and shake (well, outside of laughing). I also will note that every one of your examples have had people calling it "bad CG" in their specific trailers, despite the actual FINISHED quality. It's a subjective term. Good CG to some ordinary viewer like you may be bad to someone who knows whats going on in an FX shot. And vice versa. Or it just might be a monkey with a gun.

I've never claimed to be an expert on CGI (you have, however) and if my opinion truly doesn't matter then frankly you shouldn't be getting so angry. But you are.

I'd say that you'd be hard-pressed to find people who think the CGI in each of those movies looks fake, and anybody who doesn't probably just didn't like the movie and therefore has to criticise everything about it (a common fanboy trait and the sole reason the CGI in Hulk 2003 receives so much unnecessary criticism).

In the end you are just another internet fanboy who is throwing a hissy fit because the bad man doesn't like what you like!

I said this in another thread.

Perfect CGI wouldn't look like CGI, which is the ultimate goal of all computer generated imagery. The Hulk and Abomination look like CGI, not real creatures, which I know is unrealistic, but would still be nice to see.

That's pretty damn stupid to think that someone hates all CGI because they may dislike the CGI in a few movies. What a stupid comment to make.....

The CG needs to be like Davy Jones' face... also King Kong had some of the most photorealistic CG along with Transformers I've ever seen.... I realize these are unfinished effects but still... the unfinished effects in the Kong Teaser look much better ...

that too Rhythm and Hughs just plain suck... sorry but they do... I don't care if they did Aslan, Aslan looked really really dodgy in many parts of the film and I wasn't impressed overall with the effects on him...

Why the hell did they give this to R&H anyways? Weta would've been so so so much superior... even Digital Domain would've been fantastic!

You seem to have this "If I say it, it's true" thing going on thats not quite working for you. Not making me mad, just making me debate with you. But yeah, I have some CG experience and design work under my belt, and I'm not afraid of pointing out my personal opinion or educated critique.

Not sure if your noticing, but your one of "Those" people, chummy. One of those guys who gears up Critism (you started within hours with criticism about the hand) and doesn't stop long enough to realize your not doing anything more than just saying "it sucks". I like Hulk 2003, and have defended it, and it's CG, numerous times against "Hulk fans" who just rag on it because it doesn't look right to them, and a few that said it sucked just to get a rise out of people. and your coming off as bad as "Those" guys. You cant see the forest through the trees.

In the end you are just another internet fanboy who is throwing a hissy fit because the bad man doesn't like what you like!

No, I'm disappointed I'm hearing the same story again and again. I dont like throwing around what I know, it doesn't end or solve anything. But I know enough to know what is good, what is bad, and what comes across as someone not really doing more than stirring the pot. Either point out WHAT is wrong with it, knowing that its unfinished, and hope maybe it's not there in the final render, or just sit back like fans of King Kong had to here when people were complaining about his snaggletooth and that he looks to much like a Gorilla after that first trailer.

Well I'm sorry if I don't add IMO to everything I say.

But I'm not, though. I state my opinion because this is what a message board is for. Sorry if you don't like it. So what if I criticised the hand? Is that against the rules? No it's not. You equate criticism with trolling. That is not the case.

I've pointed out my problem with it so many times. I've also already said that I hope it's not in the final render. I'm not one to complain relentlessly. 99% of my posts on this topic are me defending myself from people like you rather than making statements about the CGI itself.

Can you guys create another thread entitled: "Arguing about The Hulk---Put your gloves on!"

No offence Nivek, but if someone was to make a point that his right hand looks anatomically (sp?) incorrect, his left forearm looks twisted, and both characters lack any weight when they're running would you shoot them down, claiming they know nothing about the CG process, especially when whats being claimed is that these effects are unfinished, yet we can see such detail as smoke moving when the Hulk roars, and the ground breaking when the characters are running - this for all intents looks like complete footage, but, I'm not a designer or a CG expert, though I am a hobbyist in CG more so for logos and video titles and such, and anything that I create doesn't require the photo-realistic edge. I suppose my point being, and I suppose that goes for anyone here, are they willing to get into an 'improvement' dialologue or just keep telling each other they are wrong about the CG?

I'm willing to have an open discussion on what they need to work on, just not picking at what "sucks". Chances are what I see as off, "bad", or under rendered is being tweaked as we speak. Just like with any trailer that uses heavy FX. as noted, like Kong changed about 3 times till he was released, as did Angs Hulk in his trailer, and even Davy Jones going from flat to slimey. We dont need people ragging on it and being so negative about something thats not done. dammit, just read any post from before this trailer was released, I was actually worried about this level of criticism being unfairly lobbed at this film since we havn't seen anything till just now. I knew people we're waiting to throw s#!t at this film. And when I see someone start ragging literally on the first frame we even seen, you know nothing good will come of it.

Thats a fair comment, my only issue is really with the sound, this will put weight and gravita's on the characters, no average movie goer is going to go in to the cinema and say 'just replay that bit - his hand looks a bit off', most folks are going to go into the cinema and want to be entertained, but as you say there's always going to be a crowd of people who are saying this is rubbish or whatever no matter what, but I'll wait until I have my popcorn and coke with my 3 kids and make a judgement then, when everything is finalised.

You know, for someone who claims to be the victim of aggressive attacks as a result of only stating your opinion, we seem to be staring at a glaring contradiction, here. Despite the claims of being an angelic paladin shining up your halo, you seem to expose that very halo resting soundly on devil's horns.

I mean, seriously, did I just read, “…you are so undeniably wrong! Haha!”?

I don't know, perhaps it's the great joy you display while you relish in "proving" someone's opinion to be wrong (all the while protesting that you're the helpless victim on the receiving end of the very thing you dish out) that gives me (and several others) that idea.

But, hey, what do you expect from a guy whose user title says, “Better than you”?

Hey guys, I decided to check out a computer graphics forum to see if anyone made any mention of the trailer and the CG on the Hulk.

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=59&t=607765&page=1&pp=15

For the most part, the people there enjoy the trailer and the new look of the Hulk. Some of them think the ILM version is better while others think this one is. They also make some critiques on the CG that I dont think were mentioned here.

Thanks Asgard, I posted that a few pages back, it seems they're pretty divided...as we are!

I like the overall design of the Hulk for the new movie over Ang Lee's version. Still iffy about the CGI, but am hopeful it will be improved by the release date.

Uh?

Someone said that CGI looks fake?

Well, I just found that Davey Jones' mug was completely CGI WAYYYYY BEFORE the movie, watching the making of on DVD.

It can be done right, if they want. Not the case with Dante Abobomination.
