You're right, it wasn't packaged properly. But your analogy is backwards. People were promised hotdogs and beer, but what they got was filet mignon. The adertisments portrayed Hulk as a non-stop action-fest; it turned out to be much more complex. Some people don't want to think these days (not that there was too much to really think about in Hulk).Ang's movie, while kinda neat to look at, was not the way to kick off a franchise. You do not tell people youre going to open up a steak house and serve hotdogs at the grand opening.
Thanks Frosty. I didn't mean to jump in. You are doing a good job. But I just couldn't resist
One persons garbage is another persons art. or something like that.t:

You may not have liked his performance, but, come one, Nolte was anything but stale.![]()

But as for franchises, I'd rather have one very good film (which I got), than 2 or 3 mediocre films (which I'm probably getting).
Indeed, Nolte can bring it. The best performance in the first film.No no, that was Bana, Nolte may bit a bit off his rocker, but the man is a powerful actor.

I hate to say it, but TIH is looking more and more like dog food...Fair enough you can have filet mignon. I'll take the Rib Eye.
Which is fine. There wasn't a lot to think about, at least not questioningly. That doesn't mean it was bad; it was complex and layered and nuanced and meticulously crafted, but not very mysterious - which is good.At least you admit that it wasn't this big thinking movie that some people say it is. Like Frosty and several others, I thought it was boring. It was not hard to follow and I understood it fine. It was just boring to me.
I will never understand this way of thinking.

Incorrect. I do not need to understand anything.Good, now what you need to understand is that most of us got an incredibly mediocre film, and are now prospected with another one to go with it.
I should be happy that they've (apparently) squandered the oppurtunity for a quality, quality series of well made films by hiring a third-tier director and dumbing down the sequels? Why on Earth would that make me happy? You should be happy, really I am truly happy for those who liked the film. Now it's the rest of our turns.... hopefully. (If not sucks to be us.)

Yeah, but you guys are wrong. Now you are starting to understand how some of us see the older one.![]()

why are you guys assuming it's an unfinished CGI. i'm pretty sure the CG will be closer to the shots in the trailer than people might be willing to admit, at least i think that shot is 90-95% complete. they won't do anything revolutionary to change from the way he looks in the trailer to when we see him in the movie.
and why would they feature the teaser trailer of the most important character of the movie unfinished? you guys gotta realize that they would want to present the hulk the best way possible, not just tape something together with duct tape and send it out, especially when abom looks pretty done.

opinion. it didnt look fake to me the first time. and unrealistic? No one is assuming anything, LL said himself it is unfinished. The hulk won't look drastically different design wise no, however skin texture and blending into the background moreso are things that can be drastically changed in 3 months. Look at the tank scene in the Iron Man superbowl trailer, looked very fake, videogame like and completely unrealistic. Only one month or so after the release of that trailer we got the full trailer featuring that scene, however looking completely different, very realistic, great. TIH had about 3 months or more depending on when the shots were given to the editing team to improve on the cgi, plenty of time to make big green look better.
As for why release it with unfinished shots, LL was under pressure to show something, many argue he was already really late in the game, so I don't blame him releasing unfinished shots at this point.
I don't see why people who liked the first film instantly think this one will suck because it isn't a direct sequal with the same director, cast etc. I loved the first movie myself but am eagerly antisipating this one, it's still hulk, just a different take on him. It's like Batman Begins and the first 2 Batman films, those 2 were great films imo, when BB rolled round it was a new director, new cast, new everything and still turned out great, it could be the same with TIH.
It's the same for those whom refuse to give the Ultimate books a chance, because they like 616 so much.

show me a scene in the real world to show me how it looks realistic.
*cough cough*
