So, I must say; I think The Killers' newest is not their greatest.(Atleast to me) For me the penultimate Killers album was Sam's Town. The Perfect combo of Rock-Country, really won me over. What do you guys think of Day & Age?

Sam's Town is definitely their best.

I still really like D&A just not as much...:( Spaceman is by far their best song i'd say. It just doesnt match the rest of the album too much.

"I've got soul but I'm not a soldier"

That line alone makes me hate the Killers.

I've got ham, but I'm not a hamster.

I cuss, but I'm not a custard.

I've got a phone but I'm not a phoney.

I dont think the Killers understand how the English language works.

OR do the lyrics make sense? :applaud Yes. Yes they do.

No, no they don't. Soldiers are not known for having soul. In fact, they are known, since the Vietnam era, as the guys who come back from war with their souls crushed by post traumatic stress. Just because they start with similar sounds does not mean the words have anything to do with each other.

I've got a cart, but I'm not a cartographer.

My favorite is Sawdust....Day & Age not so much.

You got jokes but you're not the Joker. :/

See, now you're getting it!

Now, if the line had been "I've got soul but I'm not James Brown" that would have made sense.

dude it's a song, get over it. it's not like every other song makes sense.

I like it, but yeah, it's not Sam's Town, there is not one song on that album I didn't like. Ok, I didn't like Uncle Johnny.

'My List' is one of my favorite songs, ever.

Day & Age gets better the more you listen to it. I didn't like any of it at first, and I'm a big Killers fan, but it's grown on me now. Definitely not as good as their previous work though.

Thats usually the way i am with albums. I'll really like one or two songs right off the bat but after that, everything jsut seems to flow better and i can appretiate the album as a whole.

i agree, the first was the best. sam's town had some good stuff, but it had its downsides too. bought sawdust just for the hell of it, not exactly my taste. day & age is just too out there for me, maybe i need a few more listens.

for those who like sam's town, you need to check out the gaslight anthem. they're amazing.

I have the album Hot Fuss, and it's incredible. I never got around to buying, or even giving Sam's Town a full listen...Perhaps I should pick up sometime soon.

DO. Its a must listen.

I loved Sam's Town, Hot Fuss, and Sawdust. Haven't picked up Day and Age yet. :csad:

I like how each track on day and age seems to have it's own signature style. This may not the best killer's album but it is worth checking out . The first time I listened I was somewhat dissapointed but after a second listen I was hooked and found myself really enjoying this album .

Day & Age is their worst yet, even it's best songs are just average.

They peaked at Hot Fuss and now they are kind of boring. Doing bad Joy Division covers, Christmas songs with Elton John and getting Lou Reed to phone in some volcals on your tracks isn't cool.

Buy Mystery Jets album Twenty One if you like Hot Fuss.
