So is Superman, but I don't see no non white actors being cast to play him.

If I'm not mistaken, Tom Welling is part Native American.

And how many of those various cultures were European and black African?

Culture =/= Race. A person's skin tone does not have an impact on a culture's development and the culture does not influence one's skin tone. Rather, it's the amount of exposure to the sun that determines how dark one's appearance is.

In that sense, it's not that unbelievable that the very central-to-the-equator-ly positioned Fire Nation are dark where as the northerly, moon-centric Water Tribes are fair.

wow

are people in this thread really arguing what I think they're arguing about?

get a freaking life people

Just like to point out this is an extremely gradual process he's talking about. Melanin amounts and types affected by climate acclimation over generations etc etcetera.

Its a shame how with all the facts their is still an argument. BTW do you think Nick will continue the Avatar series with Metal bending, and Energy Bending,

Uhh Dean Cain?

That's the Ultimate version, NOT the original version. Hell, judging by the rapidly falling sales on the Ultimate comics, I think that it is a safe bet that Ultimate Nick Fury's days are numbered in the comics.

It doesn't matter if the ultimate universe is crap or not the character still exists its not like they randomly just made fury blck. Ultimte Fury was inspired by SLJ.... so Jon decided to go that direction and use SLJ.

Wow, boy did he grow up to be a *****e.
anger leads to hate, hate leads to...suffering! i sense much anger in you...hehe

i didn't see/hear anything particularly *****ey. he kept mocking those who kept teasing him about playing Anakin by calling them "intelligent" but i don't see how that's being a *****e. there's bound to be SOME sense of bitterness from someone in his kind of situation. despite his horrid performance in TPM and his now pudgy appearance, judging from this short video i actually found him quite likable.

That Jake Lloyd was...interesting. I always assumed he was rich, but he seems like a regular joe, well a regular joe who constantly gets harassed about the new star wars films.

Yeah.

When I wrote it was painful to watch in the previous page had to do more with the way he described being bothered by people because of TPM.

As many problems the prequels may have no one should bear a lot of the blame for the prequels being bad. The others who get crap are Lucas himself and Jar Jar Binks but one had the luck of being under prosthetics/CGI while the other is a multi billionaire.

So Lloyd probably got it the worse out of all three as he returned to school and worked after TPM.

Ok sorry about going off topic. :(

Yeah, he doesn't come off as a *****e but I do feel like there is some insecurities there, especially when he was talking about school. Even though he joked about it, you can tell in his voice that it was NOT a pleasant experience.

It doesn't help that he is in an upright fetal position rocking back in forth throughout the entire interview either. :hehe:

yea, I didn't find him to be *****e either, but I also didn't understand his hatred for doing the movie. Plus, how can anyone make fun of him for it and how can he regret doing it? He was a child in one the largest blockbuster prequels of all time, FREAKING STAR WARS. If I was him I would pimp that status like Whut.

I think the answer is obvious. While I don't blame him for doing it, it's the aftermath that led to the teasing.

the sad part is that he is acting like every normal kid in movies. bad but like everyone .

the SW fans in the last 10 years made him look like he is the devil that raped them in their sleep.

not being that big of a Star Wars fan, it ain't that obvious to me, plus, what aftermath led to the teasing?

I'm confused on all that

I'm not sure if I can answer correctly but being a fan of the Original Trilogy, many Star Wars fans loathe the Prequel Trilogy and everything and everyone involved with it. Blockbuster or not, the quality of a movie shouldn't be determined by how much money it has made. I myself have no problem with Jake Lloyd though. Partially because we have the same last name! :p

still no reason to tease the kid, and no reason for him to be ashamed of being in, again, one of the largest blockbuster prequels of all time

Still doesn't compute with me

s'all good buddy...i was really responding to blksuperman. he said Lloyd grew up to be a *****e and i just didn't see what he saw. he made some snide comments but he seemed relatively down-to-earth.

maybe I'm in the minority.....but I never really had a problem with the Star Wars Prequel trilogy. Lloyd as young Anakin....even Jar Jar.......none of that really bothered me........

Both Dean Cain and Tom Welling are a lot more white than Asian or Native American.

Cain is only 1/4 Asian and whatever Native American blood Welling has is probably infinitesimal.

When they were hired I doubt the producers even knew they were part Asian or Native American. They probably thought they were just hiring another white actor.

Cain sure as hell doesn't look white

you can easily tell he's got a little rick suave in him

Welling however, looks like a White Boy

I suspect neither you nor anyone else can fully grasp the humiation he must have felt being one of the most hated kid actors in the business. Little Anakin has been the target of ridicule since the Phantom Menace hit the screen. Hayden Christensen was older and had a more established career so he was able to better endure the hatred that came his way. But for a little ten year old kid, it must have been hell to be constantly looked down upon as being responsible for the degradation of the Star Wars lore.

Look at other child actors in his situation. Gary Coleman became a pissed off, bitter man because people would always demand him to say his famous tagline from a 30 year old show, and nothing else. Jaleel White can't could not be taken seriously in any endeavor he pursued simply because he play nerdy Steve Urkel.

If the majority of the human population refused to let me live a normal life because of one role I did when I was but a small child, then I would probably regret it as well. Being part of a blockbuster means nothing if NOONE takes you seriously after.
