Avatar is a fantastic tv series. Rich characters, cute humour, amazing action, and the mythology is grand. What's not to like?

I have voiced my opinion on this. I am through. It is very apparent that I have in the ultimate irony ventured into the kindercare section. I enjoyed the film for what it was. I could really care less about what other people think about the film. I was defending Shyamalan more than anything. But it has become apparent that people won't be happy until he no longer has a career.

I hope you get all you deserve with this film series.

I must say, you are trying to come across as more mature than everyone else just because everyone has been speaking negatively toward a film you deem just for kids. Now, because you see the film as a kid's film, and only a kid's film, you seem to want to bash everyone else who seems to love the source material and are giving legitimate reasons for why this is a horrible adaptation of the animated series. But, because it is supposed to be targeted toward a younger demographic, everyone here with valid concerns on the movie are deemed as not being "grown ass men."

I just find it odd that you claim to have ventured into the kindergarten section of the hype, when the way you have presented yourself seems more childish than the others that have been expressing their opinions on the film.

One more thing to note, you do realize that we are on a forum that discusses comic book character's which are usually associated with a younger demographic, correct? I mean, if everything you have been trying to communicate is true then no one should complain about any comic book film that has come out in the last 20 years because we all wouldn't be "grown ass men," but children in kindergarten.

Who the hell is MKS? Wait do you mean M. NIGHT Shyamalan?

I suppose the question I am struck with now is do I stick with mediocrity, or do I let the illiterate person change my mind. Hmmm....

Oh, no. Don't play that game with me. Trying to make yourself look smarter is not going to make for the fact that you have never watched the show yet you think this show is only for Children and that in my opinion you're wrong about this film. I wouldn't mind that you liked it, but to knock people for not liking it when their criticism are incredibly valid is wrong. And believe me, if their criticism were invalid I would say it.

And I don't why I've been putting MKS anyway, but that surely doesn't make me illiterate, but MNS's films to me since the Sixth Sense have gone from mediocre to downright terrible. He's a one-trick pony in my mind who's been trying to reinvent the success of The Sixth Sense and failed miserably each time. Like I said, Unbreakable and Signs have their fans but I'm not one of them for either.

finished the third season last night and i absolutely loved the series, its really sad the movie didnt turn out as good as the show

anyway if anyone has not seen the show, GO WATCH IT, you wont be disappointed :woot:

I sincerely apologose for using grown up words like ass & Sh**. I should have known it would throw off people of your intelligence.

Grown Ass Man = A Grown Up. I just decided to use that term to lesson the brashn...oops another big word sorry. I chose the term to not come off as a big meany head (how is that? I can dumb it down more if you like).

Running Sh** = Controlling your personality. Basically you have the mentality of a child if you let your inner child have to much control.
I find it amusing that that the person who claims intelligent high ground is even still here, and posting hissy fits at that.

You managed to act even more childish than me, and trust me, that is one MEAN feat. Perhaps you're right, perhaps Avatar isn't for you, but not because you're too smart for a children's program, no siree, this program is too smart for you.

Oh, and if you're comprehension of words like "ass" and "Sh**" are as being grown up, intelligent and mature, we'll, I'm not the only one who belongs in Kindercare. Then again, your argument has already descended into immature rants of elitism and even worse, the old "Your argument is invalid because you can't even spell/use acronyms".

So It's at 118 Million worldwide now. it needs about 32 million more to get its production budget back. THEN maybe it'll start making a profit.

You can do it Last Airbender! stay in there :cmad:

:csad:

@Ghostvirus: I'm curious to know what you think of shows like Batman TAS, Justice League, and Gargoyales.. Are they too kiddy for you because they aired on kids channeles?

@ GhostVirus, every movie nowadays has people that hate it. Even Toy Story 3 couldnt keep that 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Its now at 99%

But going by The Last Airbender's 8%, seems like ALOT of people hated The Last Airbender. So the probability of meeting someone who dislikes it is much higher than meeting someone who hates say, Toy Story 3.

So you shouldnt be all angry and frustrated that people here are hating this movie... just be happy that there are 8% who liked it. :)

LOL! You guys crack me up. Seriously. All the personal shots you have taken. All the attempts to belittle me. I am simply saying that taking a children's cartoon so seriously as an adult is sad.

Yep you got me I have a joker Avatar to a movie that is PG-13

I am not claiming to be more mature. The amount of things you all are reading into my posts are very amusing.

& for the last time. I am not angry. My typing has not even indicated such. It is just easier to picture me running around screaming blood pressure all high. Once again absolutely amusing.

I cannot believe that some of you have actually used this site as a sign that I shouldn't be talking about immaturity. Not all super heroes are for kids. There are many, threads that have nothing to do with Superheroes.

Just because my opinion different than you all. Does not mean I am losing my sh**. Or that I think I am superior. Once again I only belittled two posters. Because they decided to condescend to me. So I responded in kind.

I honestly don't know what else to say. I am kicking myself in the butt for keep coming in here. I know when going in all I am going to see is posts trying to drag me threw the mudd so you can feel better.

At the end of the day. This is all based on opinion. I liked the movie I sure as heck didn't love it. There are very few movies that I do. The last movie I loved was the Dark Knight.

I am not going to say I ain't posting again. Because my stupid ass will probably come back in here again. & feel the need to defend myself. I suppose I like the challenge.*shrugs*

Exactly, it's a great show with an epic storyline full of fantastical moments. It's definitely one of the best animated shows ever. :awesome:

Actually it needs to make twice its production budget worldwide to break even from its box office run. Studio's get roughly 50% of the box office take from their films. So, $300 million worldwide to break even. It will most likely make it to that mark and since G.I. Joe (another Paramount film that cost more to produce) made $300 million and got a sequel, I can see this doing so too if it hits $300 mil worldwide.

Not an acronym. It was an abbreviation.:o

A movie being PG13 doesn't make it more mature. Case in point: Transformers 2.

I honestly don't give a crap what you think. But saying that a show is only for kids because it airs on a kids network and that any adult who watches it is only speaking to their "inner child" is very close minded and ignorant.

Definitely! I never though I would watch modern cartoons again, but Avatar: The Last Airbender surprised me and slapped me in the face with how awesome it is. I haven't seen the movie yet and i'm not sure if I will though with all the negativity it is getting.

It really is. If they release the show on blu-ray I'll definitely pick it up.

That's exactly how I felt. I grew up on Batman: TAS and X-Men: TAS, some of the best animated shows of the past. Most of the current stuff is pretty bad but I gave Avatar a chance on a whim and was totally impressed by it. It now ranks up there with the best animated shows and is just really impressive how the creators structured the show. It's the Lord of the Rings of the animated world. :awesome:

I would love these on Blu-ray but I don't see that happening any time soon considering they are releasing the collector's edition only on DVD. Which, by the way, the packaging looks amazing.

I highly doubt they'll release the show on Blu-Ray. The assets were probably all created for a 4:3 480p broadcast environment, so they'd have to completely re-scan all of the show's assets and re-render everything in high definition. They might even have to redraw some of their assets that were done in a digital environment for 480i.

This is one of the downsides of being in the digital age. Back when shows were shot on film, there was a film master of each episode that could be cleaned up and scanned for an HD release. Ever since stuff started being made digitally though, there's been no reason to create stuff in a resolution higher than 480i because that's all that TVs could handle. Now, pretty much everything between the 80's and mid 2000s (with limited applicability) is not suitable for an HD release. :(

If they wanted it on Blu-ray, they would have already done it with this year's release...

I got into the show because my Aunt loves it like crazy, so her kids and her were watching it and I sat down to watch and eventually became enthralled into the amazing world! I got into it just last month! I hope there are more cartoons that surprise me, I can't watch old amazing 90s(and early 2000s) cartoons forever! :D

I got the collectors edition the day it came out! :D But it only is the normal book one packaged in a big cardboard box. But it looks cool! I personally don't care if their is a Blu-Ray or not, I don't think 2D animated series really need a Blu-Ray release.

I thought they had new specials for the collectors edition?

A extra bonus disc, which from what I heard, comes in a cardboard sleeve.

Yeah there is a bonus disc in a little sleeve, I haven't looked at the contents yet though. It also comes with a 47-page artbook, which is actually just a preview of a 184 page artbook.

That's unfortunate. I needs me high-def.

I used to think that. It's really apparent the huge difference in HD. I have the whole Justice League run on DVD but now I've started buying the Unlimited episodes on itunes in HD. The quality is 10x s better IMO.

Yea 2D cartoons look significantly better in HD... eps if you have a big TV, looks really sharp.

Justice League on Blu-ray is a little expensive tho...
