Orly? I remember seeing it on shelves going for $100 at least...
must be my eyes playing tricks on me

Hmm... This is not the Justice League Blu-ray thread, but thanks alot of sharing! :)

Will be queued behind Green Lantern first flight, Crisis on 2 earths and all the other stuff I've been meaning to buy...

:hehe: I made a truce to myself to try to only buy items I want off of my Amazon Wish List(s). I have like so many categories, but I have trouble keeping that truce.....I' so far behind in everything in...everything.

I hope there are more cartoons that surprise me, I can't watch old amazing 90s(and early 2000s) cartoons forever! :D

Yeah, hopefully with the success of Avatar the animated series, there will be more animated shows that can capture the same essence that Avatar provided.

I got the collectors edition the day it came out! :D But it only is the normal book one packaged in a big cardboard box. But it looks cool! I personally don't care if their is a Blu-Ray or not, I don't think 2D animated series really need a Blu-Ray release.

That's kind of disappointing. I thought it would have contained a great deal of new behind the scenes stuff. I'll still end up picking this up though, probably when Book's 2 and 3 are released as a Collector's Edition.

When Zhao talks about how the waterbenders are getting stronger when the moon is coming out is just funny b/c Master Pakku from what I remember was the only one bending. Was the moon was making everyone else fight better with their spears?

Did the one kind have that boomerang club thing the girls brother

I'll wait until the Rifftrax. I'm sure it'll be a hoot.

In the meantime, I have a question. I hear that it's implied in the film that it's a post-apocalyptic earth. I've watched every episode of the series and I never got that impression. Is that from the show, or is it yet another thing that M. Night pulled out of his ass?

You got it

Wait... what? The world is supposed to be post-apocalyptic? Why?

I am a little taken back by the fact that some of you "adults" are taking a CHILDRENS cartoon so serioiusly.

This wasn't meant for you. You keep saying the fans. The children are supposed to be the fans. This isn't meant for grown ass men. Most children seemed to like it. The actual demographic that this was intended for. I gotta say I think some of you need to either realise that at the end of the day this is for children & just enjoy watching it for what it is. Or not watch it, enjoy the cartoon, & ignore the movies.

Either way I really think some of you need stop worrying about the fate of a childrens cartoon, & maybe consider growing up a little bit. I know that seems harsh. I am just speaking my mind.

wow..it truly is like talking to a brick wall.

Because MNS, a so-called "fan", thought it would be necessary to do so even though its a stupid and useless plot point.

People will understand this isn't an earth like ours without mention that it post-apocalyptic. Plus, it doesn't even look post-apocalyptic! How would that even work!? M Night pisses me off too much with how this film was done.

Some other things I noticed:

-They didn't keep the firenation hand gesture from the show instead Zhao just bangs his chest with his hand.

-Never got a sense that Aang liked Katara which was a big thing in the show.

-The whole scene where Aang is alone practicing with Katara just before the ash falls from the sky could have been cut. If they were practicing waterbending, I didn't see any water bending.

-If the firenation killed all the airbenders in hopes of killing the Avatar at the same time why does Zhao tell Aang that there's no point in him being killed b/c he'll just be reborn? By killing Aang isn't that the end of the avatar cycle?

-Why does Aang need to meditate to enter the spirit world the third time around when he didn't need to the first two times? It doesn't seem consistent.

These points were also a part of the show, and now that I think about it, why didn't they just kill the last airbender to break the element cycle?! and the thing about the entering the spirit world occurred very similarly to the show, like I said. The first time was by accident when he went to save Sokka from that forrest spirit, Kobi I think. The next time I think was at the North pole when he went to see Koh about the water and moon spirits. It just sort of happened, him sitting there concentrating and looking at the fish. After a while, Aang could enter and exit the spirit world, and his avatar past lives, at will. It was something that had to be learned slowly.

Thanks for clearing up the 'why did Aang meditate' question.

Also if Zhao thought killing Aang is pointless then I guess Ozai won't be delivering any death blows to Aang unlike in the show during their final showdown. With the power of the comet all Ozai can do is send Aang into a coma come the third movie.

I remember at one point in the show, Avatar Roku told Aang that if he were killed while in the Avatar State, the entire cycle would be broken, and the Avatar would cease to exist.

So, if someone were to just kill him when he's not in the Avatar State, he would just be reborn into a different nation, which is why Zhao tells them that there's no point in killing him.

This, along with the other infantile comments you've made on this thread, is not acceptable.

Since the existence of this film and this thread seem to be too much for you, we've arranged a nice vacation for you so you won't have to deal with it for the next few days. Hopefully you'll find another thread that you can behave in when you return.
