That's funny because this is the first OO7 film in about twenty years that doesn't focus on the primarily on the action from what I hear, I personally haven't read the script but from everything I've seen I believe it.
doesn't focus on action ? Well, so there's a problem because in that's not what I have seen in the teaser. It's not a problem. A good bond film must have some action. Having some great action scene has never been in contradiction with having a good character developpment.
If it's a more down to earth bond, I'm pretty sure that nobody will complain. Less gadget and more credible one... good.
And I was pretty happy to see the return of Felix Leiter and the first appearance of René Mathis ( Bond DGSE friend ). But it was before the let down of the stupid and meaningless restart.
I'm glad you have read half of the novel too, you must know your stuff
Well, I haven't read Casino Royale but I have read Moonraker, From Russia With Love, Dr No, Goldfinger, Diamonds are forever, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice. So yes, I know a lot about Fleming's Bond.
I've been picturing Craig in the novels ever since he's been cast and, besides the hair(minor point), he fits the part perfectly.
Well, for me, the only one that fit Fleming book is Sean Connery. Of course he hasn't the scar, of course he hasn't the blue eyes. But he is exactly what Fleming's Bond is supposed to be.
Physically, I can also picture Lazenby, just physically... don't worry. As for the other actors... No.
Someone said there was many ways to play Bond. No, there is only one. To be a good Bond, you should play him as a classy killer, dangerous and phlegmatic.
Each actor has his own proportion between the two ( the best combination was in Sean Connery ). But the two has to be present.
The only one who lacked one of them was roger moore ( he was too much of a debonair gentleman, becoming the cold killer he had to be only in " the spy who loved me " )
And for me, it didn't worked. I like roger moore, he is such a nice guy, but his bond...
From the teaser, I fear that Craig may lacked the other side, and it may be even worst. Well, nobody can say that he is physically Fleming's Bond, so he has to be really impressive as Bond to compensate.
The teaser is really worrying for me. I will wait for the final trailer, and he has to be really classy and Bond in this one to prove that I am wrong, or I won't see the movie in theater. ( And I'm pretty sure that I won't be the only guy on earth who thought that )
