The Last Shot of the Teaser

The last shot was a little akward, when the camera first zoomed in, I thought he was going to say, "Bond. James Bond." But he just shifted his gaze, ah well...

I thought he was going to say " where am I, what am I doing ? "
He was so pathethic.

why do you like so much a guy who, with a mustache, looks like the french syndicalist josé bové ??? Is this james bond ?

Craig, your bond smells like crap ! No, roquefort cheese !

I showed my dad the bond teaser trailer and the last shot of craig he said

"he looks normal, doesn't have that "look" of james bond"

WHy do people think that friends and family reacting to the teaser is a good argument point? It always comes up. "I showed my step-mom the teaser, and she was like "Ew, he is ugly, for that reason I will not see this movie."

Well you see when many people (myself included) can say ffriends and family have seen the trailer and the other reactions are always "ew he is ugly" or "ew, that is NOT James Bond," it is not a good sign then.

The Last shot was funny IMO . When I saw it I laughed . To me It looked like a guy who just lost his third game of poker in a row, at 1 am , drunk, and about to be thrown of out the Casino . As someone else put it if he had winked at the end of the trailer it would have come off a bit better .

Yes, this IS james Bond. Goldeneye was really something that any Bond fan awaited impatiently.

Casino Royale, on the other hand...

the look of Daniel Craig, the whole restart thing ( James Bond never needed a restart, he need a more down to earth and human movie. When Dalton took over Moore, they changed the style without the stupid reboot, and it worked ), plus the look of craig in the trailer as bond ( expecially the last shot ) It's reaaly hard to sell it as a james bond movie to the " normal " spectator.

At best, you can say " it's a good action movie, maybe... ", but a Bond movie it isn't for me.
I have seen every bond movie 5 or 6 times, have read half of the novel, and from what I have seen in the trailer, Craig isn't Bond. I just can't picture him as Bond.

hard to think that the director who bring the franchise back from the dead in 1995 is the one who will bury it 11 years later. kinda sad. The difference between the awesome goldeneye teaser and the joke with craig can be seen, no ? If only we were in 1995

Yeah, I doubt that last shot is even in the film... Feels like it was shot for the teaser.
It was just shot for the teaser - and it's a poorly done shot at that. Poorly lit, poorly directed. I have an inkling it was very quickly cobbled together.

That's funny because this is the first OO7 film in about twenty years that doesn't focus on the primarily on the action from what I hear, I personally haven't read the script but from everything I've seen I believe it.

I'm glad you have read half of the novel too, you must know your stuff ;)

I've been picturing Craig in the novels ever since he's been cast and, besides the hair(minor point), he fits the part perfectly.

doesn't focus on action ? Well, so there's a problem because in that's not what I have seen in the teaser. It's not a problem. A good bond film must have some action. Having some great action scene has never been in contradiction with having a good character developpment.
If it's a more down to earth bond, I'm pretty sure that nobody will complain. Less gadget and more credible one... good.
And I was pretty happy to see the return of Felix Leiter and the first appearance of René Mathis ( Bond DGSE friend ). But it was before the let down of the stupid and meaningless restart.

Well, I haven't read Casino Royale but I have read Moonraker, From Russia With Love, Dr No, Goldfinger, Diamonds are forever, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice. So yes, I know a lot about Fleming's Bond.

I've been picturing Craig in the novels ever since he's been cast and, besides the hair(minor point), he fits the part perfectly.

Well, for me, the only one that fit Fleming book is Sean Connery. Of course he hasn't the scar, of course he hasn't the blue eyes. But he is exactly what Fleming's Bond is supposed to be.

Physically, I can also picture Lazenby, just physically... don't worry. As for the other actors... No.

Someone said there was many ways to play Bond. No, there is only one. To be a good Bond, you should play him as a classy killer, dangerous and phlegmatic.

Each actor has his own proportion between the two ( the best combination was in Sean Connery ). But the two has to be present.

The only one who lacked one of them was roger moore ( he was too much of a debonair gentleman, becoming the cold killer he had to be only in " the spy who loved me " )

And for me, it didn't worked. I like roger moore, he is such a nice guy, but his bond...

From the teaser, I fear that Craig may lacked the other side, and it may be even worst. Well, nobody can say that he is physically Fleming's Bond, so he has to be really impressive as Bond to compensate.

The teaser is really worrying for me. I will wait for the final trailer, and he has to be really classy and Bond in this one to prove that I am wrong, or I won't see the movie in theater. ( And I'm pretty sure that I won't be the only guy on earth who thought that )

What? Moore is positively dark and brutal in LIVE AND LET DIE and THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN. If anything, he seriously *lightened* up his performance for the films after those two.

Come on, this guy is perfect 007 material. He looks RUGGED yet SMOOTH, like he could outfight you or outwit you.

I agree (and that's a great photograph). Craig really *does* fit the role, IMO.

Yeah man I'm surprised at a lot of the negative reaction, I think people just get up in arms over the hair.

He has all the qualities I'd expect in Bond.

The problem with Craig is he isn't one of those guys you can shoot at any angle and he will look just as good. You have to hit him in the right light so to speak. He looks good in that shot, but just horrendous at the end of the CR trailer.

I don't agree with that at all. I think he looks fine in everything I've seen him in thus far.

But hey if he doesn't make you stiff in the pants like Brosnan I can understand, no hard feelings, pardon the pun.

I agree.
