The Last Voyage of Demeter (a different Dracula adaptation)

Someone finally used The Smashing Pumpkins for a trailer!

Looks good. It is extremely reminiscent of Episode 2 of the 2020 BBC Dracula adaption (which is understandable given they share the source material), which had Dracula on board the Demeter for the entire episode - although in that show he was a bit less monstrous and it was all a bit less action packed than presented here. But it remains one of my favourite TV episodes of any show just because of the intensity and claustrophobic nature of the setting, so if they can inject a little of that into this movie it will hit the right spots I'm sure.

The Pumpkins have been popping up in a lot of trailers and shows lately. “Today” isn’t actually used in this show (or if it was, I missed it) but they use “Mayonaise” (even better song, IMO) in a pivotal scene.

Also, this movie looks awesome. Love the cast and while we all kinda know the old story, it still feels like a fresh take on Dracula.

that means, it’s 15 years ago

You could also have said kids born in 2008 are in high school now, or old enough to drive. I don’t know why you had to bring up teen pregnancy.

“That was 2008. Kids born that year could be mass shooters”. I mean, yeah, but it’s still odd as hell to frame it that way.

sorry if that offended you…

I loved reading Bram Stoker's Dracula in High School so I am definitely looking forward to this.

Major Dracula fan here, of the book and particularly the 1992 film (closest adaptation I've seen really even with the all the Vlad/romance stuff).

I've been intrigued by this since it was announced, as it seemed like a good way to show the beast and sidestep the expectation that the character be attractive and charismatic at all times. However I was left a little unsure by this trailer. Not sure if it's just the way trailers are cut and scored these days, but something felt a bit flat to me. It doesn't feel ugly or fearful enough to me.
