CBS Sets ‘Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ Writing/Producing Team

Lotta Colbert Report writers. That's good.

I like the red, blue, and white. 'Murica!

getting really anxious for this... glad he's brought his people with him... should be good...

I’ve got tickets for a test taping tomorrow. :wow:

Update: I did go to a test taping tonight!

We’ve been sworn to secrecy about all the details by CBS, but the show is glorious. He’s as funny as ever, but now with more time, a few new segments (we saw two tonight), and he’s got a band now, and they’re terrific. He’s still ripping apart current events, and I don’t think I realized just how much I’ve missed him until I got to see him again tonight.

This was their second test taping. They’re doing a few more next week before the premiere on the 8th. You can tell they’re still getting a groove going, but so far it’s in good shape.

so far, Colbert is hitting it out of the park... the man is still a maniac... LOL...

I loved the Jon Stewart cameo in the opening.

what a GREAT first show... the man's still in the groove and has many more years to go... good luck, Stephen...

I'm going to watch it when I get home in the morning. Really excited that he's back on television.

I was afraid CBS would neuter him but this was an excellent first show for him. Didn't feel like he had to tone himself down at all.

I haven't seen the show yet. Does he refer to himself as "Col-bear" or "Col-bert"? Is he similar to how he was on The Colbert Report?

I'm not use to his style so the cursed demon and the hummus bit went a bit too long.

He doesn't pretend to be a Republican anymore which was a pretty big part of the Colbert Report. Otherwise the humor is more similar to the Colbert Report than I thought it would be. Reminded me of a mix between Colbert Report and Conan honestly. (And its Col-bear btw)

Loved the first show. His style was very much the same, he's just dropped the Republican act. Glad he brought the Cap shield with him. :D

Yeah Colbert devouring a box of Oreos would fit right in with The Report. Happy with what the show is doing.

I enjoyed it and can't wait to see more new segments and better guests.

Some very sensible proclamations.

the second guest seemed kind of perplexed and confused in his one-on-one with Stephen...

This. Scarlet looked like she was trying very hard to not break down laughing.
It really was terrific. :funny:

Enjoying these new segments.
Same here. I was worried it wouldn't be Colbert enough, but it completely him. Just without the crazy right wing stuff. The hat bit and the Big Questions segment had me rolling. :funny:

Welp, here come the tears...

I am digging the way Colbert conducts his interviews. With the Uber owner, Colbert is really asking him the right questions that is informative mixed with comedy.

And that Joe Biden interview was fantastic.

I'm loving the new show. It's like a good-natured Colbert Report.

Does anyone else feel like the interviews are less scripted than they are on other talk shows? Usually, the guest and the host will have certain guidelines for their conversations. Stephen's interviews seem more off the cuff.

Ya it's a bit of a mix between the classic and Craig Ferguson (who was even more off the cuff, and it made for some fun and relaxed interviews).

The off-kilter stuff is still funny, but bizarrely it fit a litttlllle better with his crazy character on Colbert. I know he's still playing some kind of character, but it's interesting to find out who his more genuine self is, and I'm really enjoying it.
