The Amazing Spider-Man The Lizard - How does he compare with Spidey's other onscreen adversaries?

I loved how The Lizard was more of a threat to the whole city rather than just him kidnapping Peters girlfriend again. I know Doc Ock was a threat to the world but no one even knew that it was happening.

Yeah, I agree. Though I wish that the Lizard really started turning more people into Lizards that Spider-Man could have fought. What was the point of the SWAT team turning into Lizards if we don't even get to see them?

I have to say I was glad they didn't go down that route for the fourth time.
You mean the fourth time. LOL

We know that Gwen will get kidknapped in the next movie if she gets killed by the bridge.

It's an example of what is at stake - what the entire City will become if Connors isn't stopped very soon.

But.. we only saw them transforming into the Lizards, and transforming back. They literally did nothing! They were there just so the filmmakers can say that The Lizard's plan affected someone.

i actually believe there might have been a scene where he fought the lizard SWAT that was cut

Sometimes it calls for it, but I also found it refreshing that the villain (if you can call Connors that) didn't die at the end.

 I hope not. That would be ridiculous to cut out of the film.

there was a lot cut from the film that was in the trailers.
I don't believe that Lizard changed SWAT cops for no reason

But the thing is that the SWAT teams were transforming back into humans in the same spot that they encountered Lizard. That means they didn't do anything at all. They turned into Lizard men and just stood there.

What should they have done? Spider-Man had enough trouble with one lizard, so fighting a bunch of them would have been overtkill.

The idea is that the SWAT team was unavailable, because they'd been turned into lizards.

As a result, Spider-Man was the best hope to The Lizard.

What should they have done? Fought Spider-Man. Attack people. Something! And it wouldn't have been overkill, especially since Spider-Man has had greater threats. Ever heard of the Sinister Six?

Police forces have more than one SWAT team...usually they have another as back up incase the first team gets incapacitated

Andrew's Peter has been Spidey for, like, a week at this point. I think it's ridiculous to assume he could handle a team of lizard-men when he's so inexperienced.

Yeah, especially considered that this is NYC we are talking about here.

Its even more ridiculous to assume that Spider-Man somehow healed from that bullet wound like nothing happened.

That's movie logic. Having Spider-Man defeat five or six lizard-men when he's been overmatched by the Lizard himself both times is just inconsistent.

Spider-Man could have webbed a few of the Lizards up during the battle, and then as they become too difficult for him to fight, here comes Captain Stacey with his shotgun to help Peter. They could have made it work.

which is a perfect reason for the villain to create them....they would be inexperienced too since they would have been lizard men for a minutes

the SWAT were no match for Lizard as he took them out easily and then gassed them.
They seemed like the sort of thing a villain would create to keep the hero from coming right at him

If Captain Stacy helps with the lizard-men, then you ruin the moment when Captain Stacy comes to help with the Lizard. And then Captain Stacy doesn't die, and the ending of the film loses all its power.

I think the point was to show that the lizard had defenses against those forces.
