The Lounge of Ice and Fire

Unpopular opinion but I'm still pretty meh about Euron. He's just too over the top and has no subtlety at all. Doesn't hold a candle to Ramsay imo who was truly menacing especially because he wasn't always "on".

This is me. Ramsey at least had some pizzaz or flair that fleshed him out more. :)

And I'm pretty sure that Ramsey could turn Euron's teleporting fleet into firewood with the help of Ser Twenty Goodmen. :o

I prefer this season's Euron to Ramsay even with his over the top image and lack of subtlety. Even an accountant with a fork would be menacing to someone tied to a cross.

:funny:

I think the key difference between the two is that Euron is actually kind of likeable. He's insane and a brutal warrior, but he's pretty charismatic and funny when he wants to be, and he hasn't been shown to be anywhere near as satanic as his book counterpart. Ramsay on the other hand, has had 2-3 seasons of material where they purely focused on him torturing and raping the protagonists.

I've enjoyed Euron as well. My expectations were low after the Kingsmoot last season. He felt like an afterthought. So far, they've done a good enough job with the character.

I like Euron a lot more this season, but I still find the actor to be hamming it up a bit too much. I mean honestly, I could see him playing a villain in the exact same way on Buffy 20 years ago, lol. Which, I mean no disrespect to Buffy - that show was one of the greatest and it owned its campiness, but still. GoT is supposed to be going for a slightly different vibe. ;)

I think a level of theatricality is needed for this particular character. Theres only so much you can tone down before you break the character, and that's basically what happened in Season 6. They removed the colour and the camp and left us with what was basically just a younger and more arrogant version of Balon and every other Ironborn. That's arguably closer to the show's aesthetic, but it makes for worse television IMO.

I knew someone would come whining eventually.

The Edmure thread was deleted? A gross abuse of power.

Maybe aliens abducted it. :p

I suppose threads like Aziz's VERSUS one are more acceptable :whatever:

I'm not going to say we all know who reported it, but... we all know who reported it.

No, it was someone else. Something else.

There's a turd in the punchbowl.
