I dnt kno if theres a thread about this already but i didnt see 1 so i made 1...

But that scene where magnetos playing chess and the piece slightly moved gave me tha chills...because when he got shot i was highly disappointed because throughout these entire movie magnetos been a pure genius and badass!!! and to see him get shot and to lose the thing thats made him who he is made me a little upset...and when i saw him move that chess piece i jumped outta my seat...I hope they make and X4 I cant wait to see all those asses who thought they could cure being mutants faces when the master of magnatisim re-emerges Worse than ever!!!

It broke my heart seeing him, sitting there all alone whereas he should be playing chess with Xavier.

Yea...i felt bad for him but hes gonna raise hell when that daym cure wears off

ya yoo i just watched it todaii i saw these other old guyzz playin chess n his sittin there all lonely at the point i was thinkin about prf.x in the empty seat like i know he misses him n stuff...but wen he made that chess piece move i got realli shocked soo little by little all the mutants who took the cure there powers will start devompling little bby little...

Yep.
Same here.

Now that he has gotten his powers back, I hope in a possible sequel, he will return as a leader of the X-Men and never go back to his ways.
From him saying "What have I done?" until the ending Chess scene, it really made me think that he has turned good and will follow Xavier's point of view of the world.

After viewing it for the 3rd time, I noticed that he sensed his powers were back. His expression suddenly changed as if he were thinking, "Wait a minute, something has changed!" Just like when he sensed the iron in the guys blood in X2! Anyone else notice?

i hope goes back to tha same old magneto...kick ass magneto who believes in survival of the fittest...he wouldnt be magneto any other way

it wuda been nice if instead of a cut out wen he moved the piece u saw him slightly smile

Possibly, even though I see no motive, after all that in X3.

But if Magneto does go back to his old ways, Maybe he could be like Doctor Doom and even though he was a villain, he stands with the X-Men once again vs. Apocalypse. I'd love to see Magneto go beast mode on Apocalypse.

I hope it ends up something like a possible sequel.

(Hopes, but doubts)

:(

When I saw him by himself, I thought: Even de-powered he is isolated. He looked so lonely...*sigh*

Mags and chess was great, I heard him refer to chess while sending in his army on Alcatraz. Then when its revealed that his powers were only temporarily removed via him ever so slighty moving that chess piece.

I was sad that he lost his powers, but the ending put a big smile on my face.

That was one of the many good Magneto scenes, but it couldv'e been better if they showed his reaction.

Nah, 'cause it leaves you thinking, "What will he do now?". A cliffhanger of sorts coupled with the scene after the credits begs for a X4.

You don't know much I agree with you:D

Magneto:In chess, the pawns always go first.

I felt that some old geezer in the park should have been playing chess with him since it was sad to see him all alone...without Mystique...Or Pyro:D

It's amazing, one little eye twitch with Ian Mackellen says more than 10 lines with a lesser actor. It's a testament to his greatness.

I would have loved it so see his eyes beam open in shock and then an evil smile falls upon his face!

How did he manage to play chess by himself?

Hope he didn't lose.;)

how bout magneto is the new teacher @ the school in X4. but thats until Prof. X is back. peace

Actually, this scene has one huge problem. Why the hell is he in a park. He just tore up the golden gate bridge, blew cars up and threw them at soldiers, crushed cars with us officials in them, and almost caused a race war. WHY ISNT HE IN JAIL!!! when he tried to turn people mutant and broke into the statue of liberty he got thrown in a plastic prison, now hes powerless and just chilling in a park after trying to have a war.

seriously

The whole scene was rushed, but it's nice to see that the cure isn't permanent.

I think the version of the film at my theatre was cut differently b/c the scene cut to the credits just as the chess piece moved so no one really took notice of what had happened!:(

What would've been cool was if he were playing chess with a cured Mystique in jail and he wins and as he says 'Checkmate' he drops the King with his powers and both he and Mystique smile at each other(in an evil way, lol)!
