FACT 1: X3 was a huge box office success.
FACT 2: X3 has had huge DVD sales.
FACT 3: They advertised it as a triology and as the "last" X-Men film but still left it wiiiiide open (magneto moves the chess piece, xavier shooting mind bullets across the globe).
Now I know they have plans to make a Wolverine spin off and possibly a Magneto spin off but why the wait? After the amount of money X3 brought in I would think they would bust out the next X phase asap.
I like the idea of a Wolverine movie but why haven't they jumped all over X4 after the amount of profit X3 made? I feel I am in the minority of people who actually enjoyed X3. I really liked it and it has left me thirsty for more.
It has been said before. The X universe is vast. X4 could introduce new X-Men (gambit gambit gambit) along with keeping some of the old. Price tags probably have a lot to do with it but if they are willing to sign Jackman to a spinoff then they should be willing to sign him to X4.
The only other thing I can imagine holding them back other then price tags would be the fan response to X3 but obviously the negativity didn't hurt sales much.
So here are the questions...... why the wait after X3 for X4/Wolverine/Magneto to be put into production (obviously wolverine is a much closer reality then X4) after the monstrous box office/DVD success of X3? Why no immediate plans to even make an X4 despite numbers X3 pulled in and the endless amount of possible characters and storylines?
