For all intents and purposes, I'd really say Thor was the winner of this elimination. You almost couldn't include Spidey on the grounds that he's in a league of his own when it comes to sales and popularity. Thor has to make his own way with the rest of them.

Yeah, but publically, Spider-Man is the Super Man of Marvel.

It doesn't matter if they know he's actually broken up from MJ, or that he was intimate with Gwen, or that Gwen died, or that he has clones, or that he thought he was a clone, or that he has a much larger rogues list. He's Spider-Man, and that's all they need to know to think he's the best ever.

Well, maybe their core titles. But if you brought in all of the branched Spidey books, there's little contest to be had. Which isn't really fair, but again, it never is when the mac daddy of superheroes is included in a competition of popularity.

In my opinion, the true winner in an elimination like this would be the runner-up, good ol' Goldilocks.
