Devin Faraci confirmed Peter has a "classroom rival" in the film. That's the same description Deadline and other trades used for the character that Revolori will be playing. I don't think he's Harry or Flash.

Faraci has been pretty spot on with the Spider-Man stuff so far

Devin Faraci's confirmation shouldn't be take as an 'actual' confirmation. But yeah, I don't see why this 'Manuel' would be a main character.

Who says he's a main character? He's just a classroom rival for Peter. Peter's grades are probably slipping bc of Spider-Man and Manuel ribs on him for it.

Tony is same age as Tom or just turned 20, with Marvel choosing a young actor to play Peter to grow with the overall Marvel franchise, that could reach to some of his supporting cast.

Too bad we don't know how open that casting was in terms of age.

I think it was 14-20 for Peter. Maybe 18-22 for his supporting cast? I'm not sure. Laura Harrier is mid 20s, apparently and she's probably Liz.

She's been my top pick for Gwen for a while, but I'll take her as MJ, too. Just so long as she gets in the films somehow.

Where goes the faithful to the comics with that casting?

I've stated why I don't want Zendaya as MJ a couple posts back.

Odeya Rush is Ashkenazi Jewish of Eastern Europen descent, just like Gal Gadot. Why is she Wonder Woman then? Whatever your opinion on the "Is Jewish a race?" thing, Rush looks white and I don't Marvel would count her as a person of color or even think she was and most people say/think she's white. To me, she looks more like scary weird girl in a horror movie (because of pale skin) than a minority. It's whatever. Stefanie Scott is my choice anyway.

I SEE SPIDEY wasn't calling her fat and ugly. She was referring to the reasons some people have for not wanting Steinfield in the role. Hence the "apparently" and the .

So Tom left London, Zendaya was apparently spotted on an airport (on her snapchat) it looks like they are leaving and going to Atlanta. Isn't it a bit late to announce a new actress now ? I mean if MJ is in the movie, it's probably Laura or Zendaya.

Couldn't Zendaya just finally be leaving Vegas since the Billboard Music Awards was there, plus her part in the movie could be small and she might not necessarily have to prep when Tom does.

THR calls her "the female lead" in the Keaton article so I don't think she will be a small part personally.

I don't think she will be MJ either but I wouldn't have a problem with it I just don't think Marvel have the guts they aren't exactly the most progressive casting wise.

The article outlets (except deadline) keep going back and forth with that, when Zendaya was cast they said she wasn't a lead or a love interest.

But I guess assuming her part is small just b/c Variety said her role will expand later in the franchise is presumptuous.

This is actually true, but Marvel did say their phase 3 will be different.

Okay, I lied. But I happened to find a shot that was reminiscent of the "You Just Hit the Jackpot" pose, and figured I'd post it. More interesting than Harry's flip flops.

Zendaya is on vacation according to her snapchat. If she is playing MJ and has a smaller role I doubt she'll be on set very long.

I wish we just got some confirmation about her, Laura, etc. I wanna know who everyone is playing.
