Just a thought but what about Hilary Duff as MJ?

I mean there was that rumor quite a while back that she looked at the script for a part.

She looks good as a blonde but IMO she looks even better bruntte. So I'm thinking red will suit her.


The only gripe I would have is her celebrity status.

I thought the idea was to get unknowns for all the important roles to keep the cost down.

But then, they didn't go with that idea, casting IT girl Emma Stone.

Although Hilary comes across with a more sweet nature which is good for Gwen I'm sure she could do well at MJ.

On Elena Satine: I think she's a good actress, has the kind of charm that MJ needs and she's got (trust me I know, I'm friends with her.)
It's your own personal opinion if she looks like MJ, but to me she looks awsome for MJ.

What I've seen her in so far she seems like she has the ability to take on MJ.

On Dianna Argon: I don't know a great deal about her talent because I'm one of those few strange people who DON'T watch Glee.
She looks very classy to me and almost seems like Gwen herself in interviews.

I thought she'd be ace as Gwen, plus she was a contender, clearly the studio liked her enough to audition her.

On Emma Stone: To me she seems like a great actress. Everything I've seen her in she's had an incredible amount of confidence in her role. Because she comes across as a very confident and comedic lady.
I am sure Emma will be able to take on the role of Gwen, since she said she always likes to put everything into her roles.
Unfortunatly I don't think she looks like Gwen. But then the make-up team can always try and fix that.
What you all don't know is I really like Emma Stone, on ALL fronts. I just never thought of her as Gwen.
How many people can say they really considered her as Gwen before she was cast?

On Hilary Duff: Hilary was just a thought I had. Yeah, socool alot of it was down to her being hella hot, but she was only a suggestion.
She's a singer and I heard her and Marc Webb were real tight after all the videos he directed for her.



She was only a fan suggestion.

This is just a assumption, but do you guys think that perhaps MJ will merely have a small cameo near the end of the movie and maybe the people specifically agron and satine are the main two candidates but both of those schedules are busy at the start of shooting which is in december. Im thinking those two are still being looked at even though those two are the busiest because perhaps it is only a small cameo at the end of the film. I wouldnt be surprised to see either Satine or Agron appear on set near te end of filming. Unless some casting for the MJ character pops up i would have to assume this.

Thanks for that and I myself think Satine could do a great job as MJ and that's why I'm glad that the role is uncast at the moment and while I wouldnt completely flip my wig if she wasn't cast(depending on who got the part) I would definitely love to see her as MJ and am quite pleased with what I've seen of her acting.

Additionally, an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap that Mary Jane Watson will not appear in the film after all, as the character is not currently featured in James Vanderbilt's screenplay, and apparently never was.

I don't mind if MJ isn't in the first one. But I would love the end of the first to introduce her with her famous catchphrase. And take a leaf out of the classic Spidey books and SSM's book and have the first movie with Aunt May constantly trying to introduce Peter to her, only to have Peter keep dodging her until the end.

I can see why.

I think it's hard to pull of a love triangle, when you got two hot chicks involved. Even though Parker is not suppose to be an ugly dude, I think it would lose focus and would be too much for a first film.
