Yeah I did say MEW had the wrong eye color and so does Elena.

The difference is MEW's whole complextion is generally of someone who has dark brown hair.

If she went with red hair you would tell it was fake, wheras Elena is a natural redhead.


I know contacts can be wore to make the eyes green though....

Well to fix the whole skin arguement...its called makeup and tanning lol
If she doesnt tan then she'll have that lighter skin color...simple as contacts (which might look odd on either actress...which is why there are obviously better actresses out there)
You cant say this complextion is too far off...lol

but its all about talent before type casting...and i think Elena and MEW are not the answer to this role casting.

They don't have to be pitch perfect in the first place, so long as they have the potential.

That being said I think Elena is Mary Jane as if she stepped out the comic in real life.

No. Not really. She has beauty but she doesn't look like MJ very much. Her face is very elongated. MJ always had a rounder more...square face. Not really square but more so than Elena.

About as fair as BizBaz20's pictures of other actresses when matched up against Elena...He find the most unflattering images all the time...so why cant I post a video where even with limited work, Elena being a poor at actress. Considering acting is more important than the look anyway.

In your opinion. In my opinion Emma was obviously more MJ...Yet neither will be MJ I assure you...
No one can doubt her hotness as no one can truly deny her acting abilities being good not great....I want a more talented actress for MJ with at least a semi good look as the character....Not someone who "looks dead on like MJ!" lol

Just out of curiosity Caleb who would you want as MJ? For me its like 60% to 40% Elena and Mary Winstead. Ive been a fan of Elena for awhile, same with Mary Winstead. Its tough but i think Elena has the slight edge.

And again pictures are pictures, looks are only a layer of what needs to go into casting. While i do think she can look the part, i also think showing actually acting is important as well especially for casting. Im sure youve seen the videos of Elena acting in a couple threads in the Spiderman category, her acting is on par with anyone mentioned as MJ. But just because she hasnt milked that mainstream glam girl makes her a horrible actress? Yes she isnt as mainstream as Mary Winstead for example but the girl can act, she's done theatre' she's done mostly serious roles as of last. Shes a very mature actress for her age, and in the near future she'll start getting into more mainstream stuff more frequently

I actually wasnt 100% sold on Emma but I wanted her as MJ recently...right now I'm tryin to find a better actress I could support...dont really care much for MEW...Elena isnt a horrible actress...Shes a great TV actress at best IMO...
I do respect that you prefer acting over beauty...I dont mind not casting mainstream at all...fresh faces actually end up working out alot better usually. I just think that Elena is obviously not the answer...Ive seen her work...Its been posted several times on here and on the sony boards in the past...I even was curious and checked out some stuff...It wasnt bad...just wasnt good...
I understand that people on here love Elena...but I do believe MEW is more talented an actress...not by much...and it seems as if every other actress mentioned beside Elena is a no no and all I hear is Elena is practically MJ ripped right out of the comics...I just dont see it...at all. lol

And i get where youre coming from, i myself dont think Elena or MEW is MJ right outta the comics, but they add their own personally qualities to amplify what that MJ comic book character is for a better overall feel on the big screen. From what ive seen from Elena, yes she hasnt proven much on camera, she has glimpses of excellence, but i think thats because she hasnt really done much outside of theatre. But lets not forget she's been acting since she was 6 professionally where she's from which you have to respect. I just think she because she has been on tv more then film people automatically think she's just a tv actress and dont really know how versatile she is. And from what ive read about people who've worked with her im surprised she hasnt been in a lot more films. Again im not 100% sold on Elena either although from the names ive heard and that have been mentioned she has to been a really good candidate. Same goes for MEW.

The way I see it is...Elena audition for a role in SM...and didnt get it...I dont believe that there was politics to the Emma casting...I feel that they found the chemistry they were looking for...Elena didnt have what they wanted so they passed on it...It seems like that tweet Elena posted about it being politics was bitterness and made me lose a lil respect for her...I feel there is a better option out there...better than MEW and Elena and I'm sure that theyll find it...Theyve done a pretty good job so far in the talent department...maybe not spot on lookalikes...but thats never what I look for...Id look for an on the rise straight up amazing talent if I were casting...I have faith in Webb

Fully agree on this! I don't know why anyone acts like it takes huge talent to play Gwen, Felicia or MJ.

I prefer acting ability over type casting...especially since the quote above sounds like Raimis films all over again...I think with the way Webb directs he will want to make some pretty dramatic scenes...yes with parkers love life included...and of you get an average actress to take on the role...you end up with the bridge scene in spider-man 3
just my 2 cents on the whole thing...these characters can be complex and well acted if the right director can handle it just right...Webb casted Emma who had chemistry and acting ability...I say it wouldn't hurt to find another great actress. Not downing either girl...just think there are better options

Soo is anyone thinking that MJ isnt gonna be in the first film? I mean in a backstage SNL interview Emma Stone stated she starts "training" in two weeks, yet there has still been no word on a MJ casting or any other casting for that matter. Would whoever gets cast as MJ need "training" as well, if so i would expect some casting news within a week or so.
