Sorry to hear about your mother, Duke.

I pray she comes out of it strong.I didn't go to work today because my mom is in the hospital.![]()
We're Has-Bros, buddy, it's what we do for each other.
After my computer made one last implosion and steadfastly refused to reboot I had no choice but to go and install all the new hardware and hope I did it right.
So far it looks like I have. I've spent literally the entire day working on it then fixing the glitches, then installing the software and I'm still not done. 1 gig+ of updates downloaded/installing just for Windows and I haven't even gotten to most of the other software yet.
It looks like my old main drive fried or was in some way damaged, I tried to get it to show up on my rebuilt system but it caused it to hang up so now I have to try accessing it from an external connection which I currently don't have a cable for.
Fortunately 80% or so of everything else was on other drives which appear to have come through unscathed but I am taking no chances this time. Going to get another backup drive just to be safe.
you can spoil me now if you know what it is LibiLadies and gentlemen, prepare for BvS spoilers around March 6.
Sorry, missed that your mom was in the hospital. Certainly a bigger crisis than my own. Hope she is going to be okay.
Praying for fast recovery of your mom.

Sorry about your mom Duke, hope she gets better soon!
I have a lot of internal drives and one external that holds 1 terabyte (really only 931 gigabytes) so I have that covered... mostly. I need another that holds at least as much if not more to keep my bases covered.yeah back up things you can't replace. Like digital photos. I normally get a 32 gig flashdrive every now and then for that, but, I store tv shows and digital movies on an external drive

Fortunately these days such things are much cheaper than they used to be. I remember when harddrives held 3 gigs and that was "a lot."
But definitely, yes. No matter how confident or sure you are, always back up important files. I lost a few television shows and movies. Nothing irreplaceable or particularly hard to recover, although that is a major pain in the ass to redownload all of that. At least most of my relied-upon programs I already kept back ups of in another drive.
I have all my music backed up on a raved serial drive. I would cry if I ever lost my library. It's huge!![]()
I have all my music backed up on these little discs....it's neat, they take up a lot less room than my old LPs, and the sound is clearer too....no crackles and hisses.....what'll they think of next?
Yeah, those 8-inch floppy disks are the next big thing.
Probably not 400 GB but I'd say 40-50 GB at least and growing all the time. That new HBO show Vinyl has me buying new sounds all the time now. What is your definition of a huge library Squeeks? My personal music discography collection is about 400 GB and then my DJ tunes I use is over 400 GB. So I'm almost pushing 1 TB in terms of my musical library.
I guess they are floppy so they don't break so easy....damn I live in a fantastic time.
