anyone still remember those USM SHOCKER rumours, that spidey takes out shocker-who's robbing a bank at the start of the movie ?! and theres also the "4th villain is the symbiote!" arguement.

Man all this because of avi arad being so cryptic!

Now, will Campbell be mysterio in a "spidey movie within a movie"?
It doesnt sound that far-fetched really, its the kind of goofy thing I can imagine raimi doing as a quick joke, one which is directly speaking to the hard-core fans, and one that also is sort of saying that raimi wouldnt touch mysterio for real in a spidey movie.

its funny and its sort of clever that the movie is touching upon internet rumour....and yeah I'm sure mysterio will never see celluloidas a real villain...which is kind of a shame as I always liked the look of the character in a "so bad its good sort of way"......

theres alot of ppl saying theres too much going on in this movie, but I really think its strange how everyone is forgetting that SANDMAN, yeah remember him? is going to have a seriously big slice of the screen-time.

I think all these elements will be balanced well in the movie, but of course, this might be the studios movie more than raimis...seeing as they have intervened pretty substantially in the process...which could be dangerous,so who knows?

its not impossible that the script was slightly adjusted so that campbell plays a struggling actor in a spidey movie, and its seriously doubtful that this will be a centre-piece of the movie, or a major screenplay element.

I'm not panicked, and no-one else should be.

there is alot of story to tell in spidey3, spidey going dark, peter and mj, harry, gwen and peter, eddie brock, venom, sandman, the symbiote, im just saying that there is so much story to tell that there wouldnt be room for mysterio, a 5 second to 10 second cameo wouldnt hert, but that would be it.

A Cameo by a villian is fine. Like Curt Connors in SM2. Just as long as they don't give him a lot of screen time.

there was a guy who posted earlier (like months ago) how the fourth villain could be chameleon and he's been spying on spidey the whole time from spidey 1.

IE: He was at the laundry mat while pete was reading poetry etc.

I didn't see it as plausible but it was a good idea regardless

There is a big part in Ultimate Spider-Man: Hollywood, where they are making a movie about Spider-Man which gets crashed by Doc Ock. It has 'cameos' from Sam Raimi, Avi Arad, Tobey Maguire and also Bruce Campbell, as the movie villain, Mysterio. This has gotta be where those rumours (true or false, I dunno) are originating from.

If Bruce Campbell turns out to be Quentin Beck in Spidey 3 that will be the icing on the cake for me. Ever since his comments that he'd be giving Spider-man a hard time in his appearence this time around I've been hoping for this.

Hey...he had to jobs that were at least related to the theater in the first two. What better way to explain his multiple appearences in different roles and bring it full circle?

A cameo does sound the most likely way this will happen.

a cameo of bruce cambell as quintin beck/mysterio would be perfect, mysterio as a villian wouldnt be a good idea for a villian in spidey3.

I was on IMDB.com and I was looking at the cast for SP3 and Dr. Curt Connors is on the list again. So I think it is safe to assume the Lizard can be the 4th villain.

I don't think Lizard will be in SM3 period. Not even as a cliffhanger. Sandman, Venom, Night Surfer, and Peter himself as the symbiote are the villains. There is too much going on in this film.

a cliffhanger would be the only appearance of the lizard, or atleast dr. connors transforming into the lizard.

There will be no 5th or 6th villian people get over it.

Sandman, Harry, Venom, and SybioSpider-Man will be the antagonists. The Lizard and or Mysterio would only appear as a cliffhanger at best. If you go by Dr. Connors and Quentin Beck in the movie and you automatically say ohhh Lizard and Mysterio are in SM3, then SM2 had Dr. Ock, Lizard, and the Wolf Man.

This is how I look at it: I want to see Mysterio onscreen more than any other Spidey villain. If it's true they're doing it as a 'movie-within-a-movie, that means they can costume him straight out of the comic and if it looks cheesy, it's ok, because it's a 'movie-within-a-movie'!

mabye the mysterious fourth villian is me, okay? ME. my god, people, its been known for a long time that THE OH SO MYSTERIOUS FOURTH VILLAIN is in fact the symbiote. if mysterio is in this film, im sure it'll just be a cameo and no one will care about it.
