Action-Adventure The NCIS Thread - Part 2

I also can see them using the boxes as markers for their relationship as it evolves.

The story in this weeks NCIS was really well done, it was an eye opener as well. I knew there were a lot of homeless vets after Vietnam but I had no idea it was still going on and with such alarmingly high statiics. :(

It was good to have Deeks and Kensi back in tandem this week in LA and I think the show has continued to evolve the trusty Sam and Callen partnership well. The concept the case was good but I felt a little unclear to the actual affiliation of the crew that ripped off the drone info and how they planned to use it.

I just recently caught up with NCIS and "Shooter" was one of the best episodes I've seen in a while. It brought tears to my eyes. The plight of homeless veterans and the homeless in general is very real and it was good of the writers to focus on that issue. Unfortunately "The Admirals Daughter was garbage.

Edit:

Though on a side note I can't wait for the send off to actor who played Gibbs dad, Ralph Waite. That should be a good episode.

Poorest episode of the season IMO, it was bad enough when she was an obnoxious cliched brat rebelling because daddy didn't give her enough attention.......then they turned her into a spy.

I don't know why they did that episode. It was mostly pointless except for the end where they reveal the bun in the oven and even that is a b-plot.

Los Angeles was a bit better but still heavy-handed on the plight of the South Sudan.

Season 12 looks to be starting off with a good one.

I thought NCIS was a really good episode and puts a new overarching enemy for Gibbs into play.

New Orleans also started brightly, the main characters don't just feel like copies of ones from the other 2 shows, Pride in particular is not a Gibbs clone, he's more affable and charming, and his two main agents Brody and Lasalle are both slightly quirky and play off each other like buddies, as opposed to being set up as a potential Tiva or Densi.

I noticed they made an effort to put genuine New Orleans products and locations in the show too. I recognized a few things that definitely point to their being in New Orleans as opposed to just some stage or location where ever they are filming.

The show is off to a good start overall. It's got the NCIS feel to it without being too close or too far from the original.

Wth!? Gibbs never misses. Always a clean double tap. One to the dome. One to the chest. But I like where this is going.

NCIS: NO... I like it. I see they only replaced or completely dropped one character from the back pilot episode from last year.

Gibbs shot the man in the chest twice, not once in the head. Most likely he either had a vest on or some kind of "miracle" miss that doesn't hit any vital organs.

This overarching homes of Hetty mole hunt plot is pretty intriguing in LA. Nice Densi moment tonight as well and I always like it when Nell goes into the field, but I wonder how she will cope with having killed someone.

I thought NCIS and New Orleans both had their best eps this season this week. The creepy hitwoman and defection story was good in NCIS and I wonder if we'll see more of Agent Pendergast. I liked the swerve at the end.

I thought adding Pride's daughter and the computer guy to New Orleans gave the show a positive jolt, and the case was the most interesting one they've had so far.

This Hetty arc was really good and came to a satisfying conclusion, I like how they handled Nell as well, there's possibly more to come with that but it was the first chink in her armor so to speak.

Nice to see Weevil getting work! :D

That kid in NCIS this week..... I really liked Agent Keats, interesting that Marisol Nichols was in LA as an old partner of Callen's. I liked that we got a mention of Ziva and how her leaving is still affecting Tony.

New Orleans is starting to hit it's stride for me, I feel it's getting better with each episode.

Really good episode of LA this week, the toupe Navy Seal was great and will hopefully pop up from time to time. :D

Still can't work out if that was a toupee or not...

It was some kind of hairpiece of his own design. When he was alone in the car by himself and moved the whole piece a little.

I know in real-life, the actor who played the guy has really thinned hair and typically known for being bald, which is why I think they made his head rug the running joke throughout the episode.

Deeks undercover was gold. :D Another good episode playing off some classic espionage lore.

Next week is centered on the mole inside the unit.

There is clearly a shot of....
Deeks grabbing Kensi around the neck, which could be designed to make you think he's the mole, or he's attacking her because she's the mole.
Either choice would be a big mistake for the show IMO.

My guess is that it won't be anyone from the core team, as it would be too much of a shakeup . And that the mole will either be revealed to be one of the recurring characters (Nate?) or will be Hetty herself (or rather orchestrated/masterminded by herself) as part of some greater scheme she's got going.

However, my personal wish would be for it to be either Eric or Nell, purely for the sheer WTF-ery that no one would see coming. :woot:

I was thinking it might be Granger and the attempt on his life is staged by him to divert suspicion as he looks to set someone else up to take the fall.

Heh! :D It would certainly liven Eric's role up a lot as he's not evolved at all over the last few seasons in comparison to the others.
