The New 52

I doubt Multiversity will tie into anything. I think that's going to stay self-contained to Morrison (I also doubt that it'll actually stay on schedule, too, honestly, even if it's taken a 1,000 years to finally get here).

It's possible. Didio did say that he wasn't going to have another Crisis under his watch, though. He didn't deny that one would come, but just not under him. Of course, this was before he said all previous Crisises were out of continuity, so who goddamn knows.

Well....

MONTY IS BACK!

And he looks better than ever! No chapped lips (or were those teeth I never could tell.)

Anyway, seems DC is building up to a new crisis with AM squaring off against Darkseid. Sounds epic!

Man!!! Forever Evil was so damn epic! I'm loving this new Lex too

I just started reading the new 52 today. I know...very late to the party. The truth is I haven't been interested in reading comics for years, and even then I had only read a handful of the seminal Batman graphic novels (The Long Halloween, Year One, The Killing Joke, and Hush). You could consider me a passive reader. I don't know what prompted me to read again, but here I am lol. Anyway, the first comic I read was vol. 1 of Aquaman. I was never a fan of the character, but damn that was a good read! I bought vol. 2 and Batman: Court of Owls as well. Really looking forward to reading both.

Any other recommendations?

Azzarello's run on Wonder Woman.

Lemire's Green Arrow (start on #17).

Thanks! Also, are any of the superman comics worth reading? I've heard the regular Superman is pretty awful, but what about action comics and unchained?

Action Comics has been decent but not great and the current Doomsday event has been very weak so far. I'm not a fan if Unchained either. However, Johns and Romita are taking over Superman in (I believe) August so that should be promising.

It's a shame that Superman hasn't been given a properly good story yet. Oh well, I guess I'll wait until August.

Morrison's Action, Pak's Action, Batman/Superman, Superman/Wonder Woman, and Superman Unchained have all been pretty great. But I wouldn't recommend reading Unchained until all of the issues actually definitely happen.

Maybe I spoke too soon. I'll read a few issues of action comics, along with Superman/Batman and see how I like it. Thanks again to all for the recommendations!

Broke down and started reading some of the new 52 JLA, Argus, and Vibe (just to see who it is) Anything else I should read from the new 52 where there's changes?
I haven't really read any DC for the last 20 years lol so keep in mind RECENT books.

I'm doing this because I'm wanting to do a few drawings of Amalgam updates

It's a shame that Jurgen's crappy run at the start of the New 52 cast such a negative shadow. I don't think the Superman line-up has ever been this stacked:

Action Comics (Greg Pak & Aaron Kuder)
Superman (Geoff Johns & JRJR)
Superman Unchained (Scott Snyder & Jim Lee)
Superman/Wonder Woman (Charles Soule & Tony Daniel)
Batman/Superman (Greg Pak & Jae Lee)

It's an amazing time to be a Superman fan. Too bad Unchained hasn't got much longer. I wonder which book Lee will delay next.

Yeah other than Aquaman, Superman is the hero to read at DC.

I used to get into the Original Fire storm and Hawkman for awhile.
Basically had kids and couldn't even afford many Marvel titles either.
Trying to catch up mostly on JLA characters. (I hate when DC revamps the universe. I'm STILL alittle lost since the last time they did lol)

Yeah, I like Supes' new attitude. Aquaman's that good huh? I'll have to look them up tomorrow. I'm alittle busy at work. lol THANKS everyone!

It should be noted too that I'm the biggest Aquaman fanboy on this board prolly.

As far as the JLA characters... I've really enjoyed Aquaman and Flash.

Been Loving GL getting tangled in WW's lasso every now and then lol

I'm assuming you're reading the core JL title then. I've really enjoyed that, and it gets really good prior and during to Forever Evil.

And while it's not really connected to the JL save for during Trinity War, I've really enjoyed Justice League Dark. Phantom Stranger has also been really good (though it had a mediocre start). Sadly, it's ending in another issue or two.
