Yeah, not excited about a Superboy title; but, I've gotta see what Lemire does with the character.

I quit on this title about 7 issues back. I hope it ends nice; but, I got seriously bored with it.

Huh, 3rd pretty mediocre week in a row. Batman & Robin is the highlight for me with Avengers Academy a close second. Brightest Day has been good for two issues but this one's Hawk people centric so it'll be boring. Generation Hope is the new student book before the previous students are even out of the picture yet. The Uncanny X-Men arc so far has kinda sucked so I feel no real anticipation for it so far.

As for the Maybe's, I'm taking Chaos War and Namor an issue at a time, though I'll most likely pick up Namor. I've liked the first two issues so far. To Serve and Protect I want to skim first.

A rare week where half of my Marvel list is $2.99. Of course, one of those is the just canceled YOUNG ALLIES. Overall, looks pretty good. Khoi Pham is either really fast, or had a lot of lead in time, because this will be the third issue of CHAOS WAR within 4 weeks. Abnett & Lanning start to step away from the space line and into mainstream Marvel with IRON MAN/THOR, and I am thrilled to see what they do given Fraction's glacial pace on both solo heroes. Fred Van Lente is amusing on IRON MAN LEGACY, but sales are so low I can't imagine him getting a third arc on this. TASKMASTER is awesome, and AVENGERS ACADEMY is the most consistently good Avengers book on the market (which is why it is fitting that it is the lowest selling; the good books rarely sell well).

I am saddened too. Yes, it was announced that it was canceled about two weeks ago. A seventh issue was solicited, but won't ship. It did actually outsell ATLAS for some months, but not by very much. It joins the heap of many of Marvel's recent launches that couldn't get past the six issue hump.

The characters will show up, in a crossover with the Avengers Academy students and Young Avengers, in Paul Tobin's series next year which was to take place over some annuals but could simply shift into a mini series in which Arcade seeks to improve his rep by killing some younger, less experienced heroes. Arana, or SPIDER-GIRL will be getting her own series and Sean McKeever will continue his back-up strip of NOMAD in CAPTAIN AMERICA, which may be used to settle some dangling plots for YOUNG ALLIES. He also will be writing some "return of Onslaught" thing that will involve Rikki.

It is a shame it didn't last. I liked the title and it had a similar vibe to the New Warriors, just for the 21st century. It had a lot of action and some good characters, but the sales just weren't there. It launched at the same time as AVENGERS ACADEMY, and in hindsight that may have hurt it.
