I do not at all like how I cluttered my old thread, so I'm starting over with pictures that mean something to me. This is still my learning thread. Pictures will be posted by date and will more likely include the reference if it has one.

I wish I had the reference for this, but I no longer have it

It's sad, but I didn't even know who this was until recently (Machine Man)

For this, I WISH I could show you the reference, but I'm not sure how much skin i can show on SHH! and I'm not looking to get banned.

pretty nice stuff. you seem to be good at capturing the likeness and your lines are also very clean, something i need to work on.

do you have any original poses with superheroes, if so, i'd like to see some.

First, I want to say thank you to the both of you.

Now, about the bold. For some reason I have the hardest time getting what's in my head on paper. It just never looks right. But each reference brings me closer to, and helps me understand, drawing the human body. I can do a head and face, but the body seems like something I can't capture on my own yet. I do try everyday, though.

i know exactly what you mean. i have millions of awesome ideas in my hed, but every time i try to draw them, they look either too still, too flat, or just disproportional. but your totally right... drawing using reference pics can really help to get better.

The one thing I hate about Greg Land is that his hair is so hard to attempt. And by the time I got to where I was, I had to stop to go food shopping, and I gave up there so I wouldn't mess it up anymore. I swear, hair is my greatest foe. lol.

Ok, this was a weekend were I was not feeling the drawings at all. I tried it and it just wouldn't come out right, so I moved on to the picture above. Most of it wouldn't come out the right way so I did my own thing on some parts. I don't hate it, in fact, I actually like it. It was Part Reference, part me.

I like your clean style, keep posting! I started drawing superheroes by copying other artist's work, it's a great way to learn.

I have never, ever traced anything I put on this board. In fact, I haven't really traced anything since I was in 2nd grade. I've once said that I can't trace because it never comes out the way It's supposed to, and that angers me. Those are referenced. It's look and draw, not put on top and trace.

Anyway, thank you to everyone else.

Also, I'm taking a small break as this has for some reason taken a lot out of me. The proof is in my last two phoenix pictures. The last one more so because I forced myself to do it. That wasn't a good idea.
