People are complaning now they are getting Apocalypse In X-Men film and not spin-off film X-force?

Apocalypse started as X-factor villain which apart from Iceman will be In Apocalypse.And then has mainly been in X-men events like X-cutioner song,age of Apocalypse,and the twelve.

Both first class and days of future past are products of changing ideas.

The horror elements talk makes me think Magik Is important character.

He does seem too big for X Force, unless an introductory cameo appearance.

Sinister would be good for X Force though.

I'm sure X Force could be reworked to have another baddie in it, if they really wanted to do that.

I's rather see Stryfe or Genesis in X-Force. Sinister isn't an intro villain. He's too tied to the X-Men as a whole.

It's not about where he started but rather that he is too big a villian for novice teenagers. Him tackling an older more experienced Xforce would have been more ideal than these kids

I'd love for them to mix it up and maybe have Page's Kitty or Grammer's Beast as the instructor(s).

Apocalypse history is really with original X-factor-original X-Men characters,and X-Men.
X-force is really only involved with Apocalypse inless they were part of big crossover involving Apocalypse.

They could be taught at mansion.difference between new mutants and X-Men is X-Men are taught by Xavier and sent out to fight threats.New mutants are students who get into adventres without being sent out to fight threats.

Exsisting cast members coan be used as teachers while new mutants fight on their own.You could have Patrick stewart as xavier and ellen Page as kitty teaching.Colossus too would be good to see if Magik makes the cut.

Just makes me further think it will be set in the 80s after what happens in Apocalypse. Not saying that those cool characters won't be intorduced but i'm leaning towards Scott, Jean and Ororo being the main players plus extra people. With Xavier guiding them. Come on peeps Fox isn't gonna risk a whole bunch of new characters to a movie audience. They will introduce them in yes, but with characters that are famous to help support it. I think everyones enthusiasm is awesome but I remember First Class was just called that for a while and then they added on X-Men to it. It will be X-Men: New Mutants.

And like I said what's the point in introducing Young Cyclops, Jean and Storm with the good actors they've cast and then not use them again.

Who said they're not going to use them again? There's room for both teams.

Sinister should stay in the past (for now, at least) so he can fight against an X-Men roster involving Jean & Scott.

I would love that but like I said earlier right now i'm just skeptical. Hey if it's everything we all want I will gladly say I was wrong but for now I remain cautious. Fox are going in the right direction but I don't want to get too excited just yet. I'll wait to hear more news on this movie before I get too pumped up.

I firmly believe doing New mutants in same peroid as X-Men films where much of them are teens is bad idea.Setting new mutants in present while main X-Men films are in past gives them more to work with.Plus makes new mutants different than X-Men.

I also think it's crazy to think they aren't going to do more X-Men films after Apocalypse.
New mutants will be expansion of X-Men universe not replacement for X-Men.

On IMDb it's listed as X-Men: the new mutants and I dunno whether that's an official title or not but if so I would be surprised if they used the x-men name if it's just a spin off

Interesting article. The part about Josh Boone's pitch being "John Hughes meets Stephen King," is interesting. If they're leaning more towards the "horror/supernatural" side of things, then I kind of hope that we get something closer Limbo/demonic Magik than I was originally expecting.

As for a main villain, Selene could be really interesting if done right.

I'm more excited for The New Mutants more than X-Force simply because The New Mutants are the first splinter team in the comics right? Like its the first X-Men spin-off in the comic-books and I just think it would appeal more to the public than X-Force.

Thought having said that, I think it would be cool for Fox if they managed to release a film for The New Mutants, X-Force and X-Factor in the next 5 years. Thats like the top 3 splinter X-Men teams out there.

Yep. Plus I have my fingers crossed that, though they likely wouldn't be focused on, we could see the OT cast a little again. Specifically some of the underused ones

Oh totally. I like to see Halle, James and Anna teach some students and train them as an upcoming members of the X-Men. They had squads in the 616 universe, they could do the same thing here though I expect they would focus on 4 to 6 students in this film.

If it's set in the DoFP future, why not just have the OT cast members appear every now and then? Give Marsden's Cyclops a chance to be a bonafide leader/mentor figure.

Apparently, that cast is too expensive to headline their 5th X-Men film. Ugh Fox!

Experienced is just an idea rather then anything that would impact a movie, the future experienced characters in DOFP were ripped apart by sentinels with all their experience

Toad kicked 3 of their asses in X1, what happened to their experience

In X3 you had at least 3 teens kitty,iceman and colossus in the final battle with a dozen mutants, now you could argue you don't see Colossus fight but I think the idea was he was kicking butt

In the end excution will be the winning factor not their age or the idea of experience

He should! He's the most popular male character of the original line-up and has appeared in cartoons/videogames. He's even more popular than Mirage, Sunspot, Karma, Magik, Wolfsbane, Cypher, Warlock and Magma.

Then Sunspot, I don't know if they would use him again unless they retcon Adan Canto's appearance in DOFP, his name wasn't even brought up in the film. And I don't see Adan Canto as a teenager. I wouldn't mind if they retcon him or recast him so Sunspot could appear in The New Mutants.
