This is ALWAYS my first assumption.
 
@C.Lee I don't that is the case here. Sneider has had a pretty good track record in the past.

In this picture, I actually thought he looked the oldest of any of them. I think it's because he has such a strong jaw, but when I first saw the article I assumed he was in his early 20s. Asa and Holland seem the most believable as 15 year olds (honestly, Holland might be able to pull off 13 or 14 and I don't think I'd bat an eye).

but very recently he's said things in particular about spiderman that in my opinion gives him less merit.

I've been in contact with some of these people that work in the movie business for some weeks, and I'd beg to differ, it's a lot more complex than that. Yes they work with this and want to make money out of this, but they do KNOW about stuff. If you see someone like redditleaker dude keeps saying that Dylan O'Brien will be Spider-Man, and he is doing on reddit. Eventually anyone will believe on him anymore, so why he did it, if not for the money? I'd say it's for the attention.

What I think it's more tacky and a serious case of poor management are actors with rabid fanbases keeping false hopes for things that aren't happening. I don't know if the Dylan O'Brien fans understand this - and they are even a lot worse outside here than they are here - but the way they act around their idol is turning a LOT people off. For every case of occasional supporter that they can get, you can be sure that the Streisand effect is going rampant. I seriously can't see myself checking any of his stuff anymore at least until the heat calms down. That's a lot more tacky than the scoopers imho, and it's ALSO about money and getting free publicity.

Yeah, but that wasn't suppose to be taken as a scoop... he actually printed that article into The Wrap (which is a trade site just like Variety and Deadline) I don't think he would have printed the information if it was false.
 
Lol ... It's your right to believe them Harryoscop. You can. They got things right too in the past. But remember they got many things wrong too.

Kevin Feige said it himself, in their mind the new Peter Parker is 15 - 16 . But in term of CASTING ACTORS he doesn't know. Meaning he can be 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, ... 28 - I don't even know myself lol!
Exactly, right now pretty much any actor is likely to get the role, but the best for the role, the person who has the most popularity and will make the best PP or SM which will then make the most money/success for the franchise, is most likely.
It's like others have said, Ed Nortan was not a great choice for Hulk, that's one of the main reasons people actually say that it was a bad movie. Peopled didn't watch it because he was so disliked, which means the actor they choose holds a big decider on whether SM will be a big hit or not. But not just the actor, but the people's perception of the actor. I can tell you one thing, whether or not Marvel/Sony decide to do it, with the DOB fanbase a movie with him as spider-man would be a hit, assuming the script is done well.

I was talking about him suggesting spiderman is black. in both cases, is objective was to mislead, and he did.

These people you are on about work in the movie business in the very loosest sense though. They are scoopers and gossips and rely on people traffic on their sites to get them business.
So now you are blaming Dylan O'Brien for not making yet another denial when he has already made one?:huh:
Just let people who want Dylan for the role support him if they like and stop trying to shut them down. I do not see why you have such a superior attitude about it.

The remaining 10% was learning how to write in short paragraphs and coping with the fact that most of your audience isn't going to read what you write anyway.
The majority of all web writing (and pretty much any writing in a professional sense) is to sell you something first, whether be it an idea or a product, and anything else second.

Also, blaming actors is ridiculous. Are you suggesting that O'Brien needs to come out and say he doesn't have the part? Guess what. He's done that. Didn't work. Plus, as you said, it's getting him money and attention--it's just good business sense. As is Sneider's headline.

Well, yeah. of course I know what it means. I don't believe EVERYTHING I hear.. but do think Sneider is right about them casting an 17-20 and think the five actors that he mentioned are very strong candidates.

I knew about the Nat Wolff thing 14 days ago. No one here knew then, I was lucky that I've got confirmed by Sneider and other sources. I've proved how I knew it for some reliable members of the board. Sneider is legit, and he's been doing this kind of thing - and getting it right - for years now.

I feel like Dylan is the type of person that would come out and say "Thank you to all my fans for your support. I am not in consideration for the role, but your excitement means the world to me" if he wasn't in consideration for the role any more.

I feel like the fact that he hasn't means he still has a chance. Even if it's 1 in a million. He can't be held responsible for his rabid fanbase.

I'm just a fan. I've just been extremely lucky. Have you heard one of the contenders named Timmy Chalamet? I was the one that get the scoopers in the right track. It turned out I was right and he's in the mix, and then the things started to unravel.

But it's okay if you don't want to believe me. I'm just saying what I've experienced. I can understand how many times you've heard bogus claims like this, but I do have how to prove it.
