Homecoming The Next Spider-Man - - - - - - - - - Part 18

Idk, I'm not into keeping tabs on young teenage boy actors. Not my style.

That is exactly why they shouldn't be going for mere children or this high school angle. I can think of more actors in their early to mid twenties who loom more the part than the kids on that short list. The talent pool is just bigger. But that's neither here nor there now is it.
Hate to break to you but even if they cast an unknown, he'll still be around Asa/Tom's age range.

Guys like Lerman or O'Brien are out.

I am more than aware.

Hence "neither here nor there"...
Then I'm not sure what your point is (Sorry if I came off as rude), like you want them to cast an unknown in O'Brien/Lerman's age range? I'm confused

The talent pool is bigger yes. But there is too much resistance against Aiken and Dillane here.

Not surprising to say the least... :loco:

No. I don't know who I want. I just don't want one of them.

All I know is this reboot so far is not going in a direction I would like. I wish this deal was made back in 2010, but again moot.

Again, Harryoscop posts one of the worst pics he could ever find.
Are you aware that it says NOTHING about his talent? The guy's a RADA graduate, for heaven's sake!!! He's working with Ron Howard (yes, that "famous" big budget film with Hemsworth and Holland)

Even though it could have been nice for the deal to have happened long before, I personally think introducing him in Phase 3 was the perfect time to do so. We've already established heroes who have been around for a good amount of time and now a younger hero is appearing that could potentially represent the next generation of heroes coming up. I think that this version of Spider-Man will give hope to the other heroes in the MCU when they're in a time of need. A young kid that learns from the best of the best and becomes a hero others will look up to when he is older.

Nothing but BS rumors, Cumberbatch was always the one heavily rumored for the role.
Nope, because trades still mention it today. You can't just skew facts for your argument. Unless we're suggesting trades may not be accurate... In which case, that shortlist is too.

Point is, those actors weren't on a shortlist because they were always going to get the role, therefore they shouldn't count . it's not like there was a shortlist and Marvel decided to go with a complete unknown.
So because it doesn't support your point, it doesn't count? :whatever:

Anyway, Tom & Asa are being reported as the frontrunners by the Trades (something none of the other Marvel shortlists have done) not El Mayimbe, so it's likely to be one of them.
Ok?

I doubt who ever is signed do just 5 pictures. Heck Stan has a 9 picture deal for bucky. And so far will only done 3 with civil war. I bet spidey will be like bucky contract. 9 pictures with option to appear on tv and neflix shows. So that be civil war, infinity 1, infinity 2, 3 solo films.

This would cover pretty much all of phase 3 time. With possibly 3rd solo going into phase 4. And then probably 3 more pictures for phase 4 films. Be it more solos or team films. And then option to reup.

Since at this point if it's asa or tom they would run this contract to about 29 to 31 yrs old. And maybe do a few more films. Ala like rdj newest deal is and what have you.

Man another thread down. Let's hope we get news in this one. And boo still nothing urghhh. Well we got one more weekday with tomorrow for news to drop in may. I do hope we get it. If not I kinda hope it will be this coming wed for my bday.

If we're going strictly off "looks", Dillane reminds of Peter Parker more than Asa does.
There's is a reason he was considered for the Webb reboot, with only one supporting role under his belt. He's a natural born talent.

With that said, it's not fair to claim that there's no talent among teen actors. The only thing that speaks against them is that they are seen as so unsuitable for Peter Parker.
Take Max Records. He's hated at these boards and considered to be the most ugly and creepy looking kid of them all. People would rather give their left leg than have him as Spidey. (Kodi comes close)
I remember a pretty crappy comedy film. The writing was lousy and bad, most of the characters "meh" or even worse.
Max Records starred in it, and he acted circles around Jonah Hill in the lead. Not that it would require too much effort!!! Acting circles around Jonah Hill, I mean. :oldrazz:
But it's still worth mentioning.

I think Joaquin Phoenix was a pretty serious contender for Doctor Strange .
It wasn't that the rumors were not true,
Phoenix didn't want to sign the long term contract .
And , I don't blame ANYBODY that doesn't want to sign one of these long term Marvel or DC deals.

That's one thing I don't really understand. Why would anyone not want to sign one of these deals? It looks like a blast and is an opportunity of a life time. I wouldn't think twice about it, but that might be because I love this ****. I guess most actors just don't like the idea of being locked in and being limited to what projects they can take on, but still.

Chris Pine to be in the Wonder Woman movie. Elmayimbe was wrong about him being cast as Green Lantern, hope he's wrong about Asa too.

I rather have had pine as gl. It's a waste for him to be steve. Should have been that Scott Eastman guy.

Let's shake the foundations and cast unexpected and unknown :)
Hero Fiennes-Tiffin for PP. He's as old as Buttercake, and not still the little kid he was in Half-Blood Prince.

Because you are locked in regardless of if you want to go in a new direction. Also, I don't think some realize how grueling special effects movies are to make.
Also if the movies absolutely blow up your fee has already been agreed.
Imagine is Robert Downey agreed a 10 picture deal with the fee he earned with Iron Man in 2008, he'd be kicking himself now.

Just cause actor may only get x amount of money for firdt or maybe 3nd film they do. Doesn't mean they be locked to just that pay. They could always get more pay from asking for more and or making some changes to contract. Or if there film is a massive hit.
