A standalone image is worth nothing. What we need to see is that body in the same shot as another character's body because for all we know that Spidey could look more muscular than Stark.

Also important to remember Spidey has enhanced strength and a twig body would have difficulties conveying that.

How and why does it matter if Spidey is more muscular than Tony Stark? half of the time Tony is wearing the Iron Man suit which coats his entire body so he doesn't need to be ripped.

And I don't know about you, but I absolutely LOVE the image of a scrawny teenager being able to lift up a car. one of the reasons I prefer the USM physique.

I don't know what world people live in where it's a requirement that a superhero have massive muscles in order for their superheroics to be believable, but I don't want to live in that world.

Give me somebody like USM Peter Parker, Buffy Anne Summers, and/or Olivia "Liv" Moore any day of the week.

As far as Asa being the rumored frontrunner goes, I say "good for him". He's my top choice out of the rumored candidates, and my second choice for the role overall (with my first being the not-actually-in-contention Isaac Hempstead-Wright).

My deal isn't against a skinny spidey for a few films. All I getting at is asa has a petite frame on a tall skinny body. I don't see him getting any bulk and muscle size over time. As I said I don't want spidey to be skinny now. And come phase 4 ie time 3rd film and what other mcu films he likely be in during phase 4 and on to still be skinny as he is today.

Heck here is a photo of him from that Burton film. Look at how skinny he is. Again I just don't want mcu spidey to be a tiny dude. That is why 8 like someone of dylan body size he too is also good height and skinny but he has bulk to him.

About the costume: Feige has said that it's "unlike anything that's been seen before", so I wouldn't be too quick to assume that we have any idea what it actually looks like or that it's in any way inspired by things that have come before.

Ultimate twig-skinny, as you put it.

A lot of the main Avengers come across as larger than life in size, so it'd be nice to have that visual difference on screen.

A multi-million dollar contract and personal trainer can work wonders. I don't know anyone can doubt any male teen couldn't conceivably bulk up with enough time and effort.

No one's asking for Mr. Olympia, but attaining a build akin to that of USM is so ridiculously low of a bar by Hollywood standards it's not remotely a concern of mine.

Btw, Asa is only 18, he's still got to grow and fill out.
7 years from now, he'll probably be similar to Garfield's build for TASM movies.

I want a Spider-Man actor who looks young enough to allow Sony to keep him in HS for at least two of his solo films and any other projects that they choose to have him show up in while also accommodating what Marvel Studios wants to do with him in Civil War and potentially other films. I'd also prefer a skinnier Spider-Man in the vein of USM Spidey.

Asa Butterfield matches pretty much every one of those criteria as far as I'm concerned.

Spidey dude that my point I want to see classic spidey done. Which is why I liked dylan the most he had the height the right look and acting for both sides. He be ripped from pages. Where as asa as I said he isn't a bad actor. Just isn't my ideal choice cause his lack of humor and not the look I prefer to see spidey be for mcu compared to rest of the heroes.
